Himellas[1] are insects featured in Metroid: Other M. They are found in frozen rooms in the Cryosphere. Their wings have snowflake-like structures, and they have blue bodies with red eyes. They spawn from Fly Pods that resemble white compounds. Himellas are essentially identical to Mellas that are found in the Pyrosphere, but unlike the flame-spitting creatures, the former are capable of firing small ice shards; they both are capable of grappling onto Samus however.

The similarity in name and physiology suggest that Himellas and Mellas are possibly related.
