Homing Missiles are Missiles that, when locked onto an enemy, home in on them. Depending on the enemy, the Missile can wind around in the air before it strikes its target (Rundas is an example of this). Missiles only feature a homing ability in Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid: Other M. These include Super Missiles, Seeker Missiles, and Ice Missiles as well.
In Hunters, Missiles exclusively feature a homing ability when fired by Samus because they are her Affinity Weapon, and this effect is slight and only activates when a Missile is fired directly at a target, meaning that her homing Missiles may still miss moving enemies. In Echoes, Missiles may stop homing in onto an enemy if Samus ceases targeting them.
Other weapons with homing capabilities include the Wave Beam, Wavebuster, and Ice Spreader in Prime, the Annihilator Beam and charged Light Beam in Echoes, and the charged Volt Driver in Hunters (when used by Kanden).
