Hyper Mode Credit

Extra Gold Credits are rewarded to the player when bosses are defeated on this difficulty.

In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Hypermode is the highest difficulty level, unlocked after completing the game on either of the lower difficulty levels. Samus deals 50% less damage and takes 50% more than while playing on Veteran Mode. Additionally, Space Pirate enemies, such as Crawltanks and Pirate Troopers, will enter Hypermode much more frequently, which also has the consequence of making the X-Ray Visor and Nova Beam combo harder, since the former is disrupted when an enemy is in Hypermode.

Samus will find it difficult to survive many encounters without entering her own Hypermode, due to it providing increased offensive output and protection against attacks. Defeating Phazon-enhanced enemies without Hypermode is possible, but much more difficult and time consuming. This makes managing Energy Tanks and surviving a challenge.

"Hypermode" is also the name of the highest difficulty level in the Metroid Prime Trilogy versions of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. This difficulty is equivalent to the "Hard Mode" in their original GameCube versions, similar to the Hypermode difficulty in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Unlike in Corruption, extra credits are not rewarded for defeating bosses in Prime and Echoes again on Hypermode. In Metroid Prime Remastered, Hypermode is renamed back to Hard Mode.
