The Item Cube containing the Phantom Cloak.
An Item Cube[1] is an object found on ZDR which holds an Aeion Ability for Samus Aran to harness, playing a role similar to the Aeion Ability Artifacts from SR388. Each is held in the grasp of a standing Chozo Statue, save for the first, which was stolen by Corpius and stored in its tail.

Unlike Item Spheres, Item Cubes do not need to be broken open with weapon fire to reveal the power-up hidden within. Upon entering a room containing one, a cutscene plays that has Samus automatically grab and absorb the Item Cube through her hand to obtain its Aeion Ability.
Uniquely, the Phantom Cloak's Item Cube was stolen by Corpius and stored in its tail, making use of the Phantom Cloak for itself. After defeating Corpius, Samus absorbs the Item Cube in the cutscene that follows.
Trivia[]
- The Item Cubes vaguely resemble the Aeion Tanks from SR388, and play a similar role in empowering Samus's Aeion Abilities.
