Jamie O'Hara is an American concept artist and animator. He is currently a freelance Senior Concept Artist with his own company, Blue Pencil Concept. Through Blue Pencil, he has contributed to the post-production of films such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Terminator: Dark Fate and The New Mutants.
O'Hara was a Lead Character Developer and VFX Supervisor at The Mill, a post-production company in Los Angeles, for five years. He supervised and worked on multiple projects, including the live-action commercial for Metroid: Other M, "Past is Prologue".
According to The Mill's website, O'Hara was the commercial's Lead CG Artist, whose team remodeled creatures in the game (such as Ridley, the Zebesians and Mother Brain). Recreating the creatures was challenging as they had to be made photo-real while also true to their in-game depictions, and this meant changing some proportions and enhancing features that translated well to the real world.
O'Hara was also a VGX Supervisor and 3D Lead at Psyop for a year, and Art Director and CG Supervisor at Framestore for two years. Before entering post production work, he worked as a camera and production assistant.
