The Jump Boots are an ability in Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt. They allow Samus to jump both on the ground and, if Samus has not already jumped, to jump in midair. In other words, if Samus falls off a cliff, then she may jump once before hitting the ground. This ability can be used to Samus' advantage because fall damage is present in Hunters.
Samus possesses a similar ability in Metroid. If she rolls off of an edge as a Morph Ball and A or Up on the control pad is pressed, she will be in a standing position and can jump in mid-air.
Another similar ability is present in Metroid II: Return of Samus, where if Samus is hit by an enemy, she can jump much higher than normal.
