The Kralee is a beetle-like species of predatory insectoid bioform seen on Aether in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It can open transdimensional portals with the red-colored crystal on its back. However, it is stated that the creature has no control over this ability, despite this trait having apparently evolved for defensive purposes. Thus, Kralee spends much of its time in a state of dimensional flux. It can be seen easily using the Dark Visor.

The Kralee's behavior is rather simple. They roam around a set path where at times, they may stand idle for a brief second to activate their teleportation ability, where they remain invisible out of the normal timespace. Within a few seconds, their teleport effect wears off and they are seen in normal spectrum once more, casually roaming as if nothing has happened. If a Kralee phases out of Samus's dimension, it becomes immune to all weaponry under normal spectrum. Curiously, they are still able to inflict damage to Samus via physical contact while "invisible". The Echo Visor can detect their presence at all times, but cannot targeted them when out of the local timespace. The Dark Visor can not only target a Kralee at all times, but also negates its invincibility when out of the current timespace, allowing Samus's weapons to kill the creature under this spectrum at any given time.

The Kralee is encountered in Mining Station B within the Agon Wastes. In the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Bonus Disc, one is encountered within Agon Transport Access in the Temple Grounds and can inflict ten units of contact damage. The Bonus Disc Kralee does not activate its crystal teleportation ability.

Their relatives are the Green Kralee, which are simply a mutant variety of Kralee that has lost its ability to create portals.
