Lift Access is a corridor on the G.F.S. Olympus. It provides access from Command Lift B to the Flag Bridge. This corridor includes a Blue Door to a Recharge Station, but it is initially blocked by a Galactic Federation Crate stacked on top of a heavy crate. These crates contain a bountiful supply of Energy Capsules, which easily recharges Samus' energy reserves before she uses the Recharge Station. Samus must use it anyway before entering the Ready Room at the request of a Federation Marine. Access to Command Lift B is initially cut-off due to a Blast Shield covering the door. This prevents use of it until after Samus acquires the PED Suit. This is because Samus does not get an opportunity to visit Aurora Unit 242 until her second visit to the Olympus.

Development notes[]

The room's internal name is h13_gfship_liftaccess. The keyword gfship indicates the G.F.S. Olympus, and the prefix h13 indicates that this is the 13th of 18 junction rooms on the G.F.S. Olympus.

In a demo version of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption shown in an IGN video dating back to at least March 6, 2007,[1] players would begin at the Recharge Station within the room, with the Space Pirate attack having already begun. The Blue Door between the Recharge Station and the hallway was absent in this version, as well as the accompanying crates. Instead, the two sections were directly connected. The Door leading to Command Lift B was also absent, along with the section of the hallway leading to it. Because of this, the room served more as a junction between the Recharge Station and the Flag Bridge, and presumably had a different name. However, what that name was is currently unknown, as the Map is never viewed within the footage.[2]
