Tourian entrance shaft[]
The "Tourian entrance shaft" is the first room in Tourian. It appears in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission, with differences between each version. The shaft is populated with six Metroid larvae, which begin to target Samus when they spot her. Visually, the room is similar to the escape shaft at the other end of Tourian, as they share the same metal constructed walls, and midair blue platforms of varying width. At the bottom of the shaft is a Yellow Door requiring ten Missiles, which leads into the rest of Tourian. This is the only such door in the game.

Tourian lava passage[]
The "Tourian lava passage" is a room in the original Tourian. It appears in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission. The second room in Tourian (in Metroid), this is a long passage constructed out of metal bricks and rebar, with segments of the floor missing and filled with pools of lava. At multiple points in the room are Rinka spawners, which release infinite numbers of the ring-like creatures, only pausing if Rinkas are frozen with the Ice Beam. In the middle of the room are six platforms floating above two larger pools of lava.

Tourian ledged shaft[]
The "Tourian ledged shaft" is a room in Tourian. It appears in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission, with visual differences between each version. In Metroid, the platforms appear to be comprised of a wide pipe, with metal bricks at either end. Platforms on the right wall seem to be positioned higher than those on the left. At the bottom of the room are five wide blue platforms, similar to that seen in the entrance and escape shafts.

Rinka hall[]
The "Rinka hall" is a room in Tourian. It appears, with significant differences between versions, in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission. In Metroid, the room is constructed out of curving metal pipes and bricks, the former of which appear jumbled closer to the exit. The exit is found on an upper ledge, which must be jumped to from a raised section of floor. Near the entrance is a small staircase and three platforms suspended over a pool of lava. The final Metroids are found here, some of which spawn from the ceilings and one from the lava.

Zebesian Command Center[]
The Zebesian Command Center is the central base of Space Pirate operations during their occupation of Zebes. In the original game, the first battle with Mother Brain took place within the Zebesian Command Center and the room itself was relatively simple in appearance with no background. The entrance was on the far right side of the room and Mother Brain was located on the opposite side, but between these two ends were five Zebetites, 15 Cannons and 14 Rinka generators.

Tourian escape shaft[]
The "Tourian escape shaft" is the final room explored in Tourian during Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission. The room is a tall vertical shaft with multiple midair platforms, presented as blue and elongated in Metroid and Super Metroid. In Metroid, there are exactly fifty ledges. At least six at the bottom and two near the top of the shaft are longer, while the rest of them are no larger than a Rinka and appear to be oriented to the right side of the shaft. An elevator, presumably to Crateria, is at the very top and stepping onto it ends the game.
