Quarantine room

The quarantine room is a medical room within the Galactic Federation mothership in Metroid: Other M. Samus Aran awakens on a bed here in her Zero Suit after escaping planet Zebes following her raid that took place there in Super Metroid. After a period of rest, Samus is awoken by the Head Quarantine Officer there and directed by another to enter an empty training room next door to test her Power Suit's capabilities.

Holozebesian

The empty training room appears at the beginning of Metroid: Other M. Samus Aran is led here in a training sequence by the Head Quarantine Officer. The training sequence starts with Samus releasing Charge Beam fire at one, then two more holographic targets. Next, she is told to transform into her Morph Ball to drop some Bombs, before she is asked to unmorph and stand in the middle of the room.

Mothership hallway[]

The "Mothership hallway" is a nondescript corridor seen on the mothership. A pair of bright fluorescent lights stretches across the ceiling. Shortly after Samus completes her training, she proceeds through this corridor to a door to the meeting room. She stands in a biohazard scanner and scans her iris before the door opens, and she steps inside. The door is reflective and has a similar design to that of Navigation Booth doors on the BOTTLE SHIP.

Meeting room[]

The meeting room is featured at the beginning of Metroid: Other M on the Galactic Federation mothership. It is not playable, and only appears in a cutscene. After Samus Aran awakens from her ordeal on Zebes, she enters this room to report on what happened during this mission. She states: "Mission completed. The planet Zebes was annihilated... And all Metroids were exterminated." This leads to much applause from the audience, which likely includes the Supreme Council, given that the Head Quarantine Officer informs Samus that "the big dogs" are waiting for her. Samus reflects that her report was "simple" and "almost dull", but that it "felt momentous" to her.

Battle ground[]

The "battle ground" is a war zone seen in a brief flashback to Samus's days with the Galactic Federation Army. The flashback occurs when Samus encounters Adam and the 07th Platoon in the Cargo Hold. It is a desert landscape surrounded by jagged rocks in the ground and . In the flashback, Adam gives an order while at least three other unknown soldiers shoot at unseen enemies. Samus - wearing her original Power Suit, which is destroyed during Metroid: Zero Mission - jumps off of a rock and fires several blasts before landing on the ground, with Adam watching the whole move. The context of the battle, as well as its location, is unknown.

Galactic Federation Headquarters[]

Headquarters observation hall[]

Headquarters observation hall - Samus walking

The "Headquarters observation hall" is a room at Galactic Federation Headquarters. It appears in Metroid: Other M during flashbacks and the ending cutscene, and is not playable. This room is first witnessed during the flashback Samus has after she defeats the Brug Mass and is accepted into the 07th Platoon's mission. A younger Samus, then a member of the Galactic Federation Army paces through this hall quicker than several other humans passing through it. At one point, she stops and proceeds to the window, placing her hand on the glass as she watches the goings on in the city outside. Her mood in this scene indicates that she is uneasy about something, but why this may be is not explored. After a moment, Samus leaves.

Adam's office[]

"Adam's office" is briefly seen in the same cutscene as the above hallway. It is the office of Commander Adam Malkovich when he is not on a mission.

While Samus is musing about how she saw Adam as a father figure, Adam is shown seated at his desk, signing a document before he stands up and looks out the window. The camera briefly pans to a photograph on his desk depicting Samus, Adam and his brother Ian. A flag, potentially a Galactic Federation one, is situated behind his desk.

Headquarters exterior[]

The "Headquarters exterior" is witnessed in a flashback Samus has of her time in the Federation Army (the same one that depicts the "battle ground"). This appears to be set in an outdoor landing strip, with a crane, crates and dropships resembling the Hygieia visible in the background. As Samus alludes to a "certain incident" (later revealed to be the death of Adam's brother, Ian), she is shown approaching Adam and giving him a brief nod, before walking past him. Adam proceeds forward, without a reaction. This scene symbolizes her decision to leave his command and become a Bounty Hunter.

Briefing room[]

For the room on the G.F.S. Olympus also known as the Briefing Room, see Ready Room.

The "briefing room" is seen in another flashback to Samus's time in the Galactic Federation Army. Adam is seen in front of three holographic screens displaying schematics, one of them appearing to include a map, with ten soldiers in front of him. Samus and Anthony are among the soldiers, while the rest are not named. A large, empty screen or window is found behind the soldiers, and what appears to be a camera or microphone mechanism above the room.

Adam stands on a slightly raised platform during his briefing. There is a podium to his left, although he does not stand in front of it when speaking. Notably, his briefing includes the line "We need to gather all the information we can, but priority one is to find any survivors and bring them to safety." He says the same thing during his briefing in the present day BOTTLE SHIP Control Room. Therefore, it is possible that Samus was having this flashback while the briefing was occurring.

Galactic Federation Battleship VIXIV[]

Command bridge[]

For the room aboard the G.F.S. Olympus also known as the Command Bridge, see Flag Bridge.

The "command bridge" is the only room witnessed aboard the Galactic Federation Battleship VIXIV. It is seen in a mid-game flashback that reveals the event that pushed Samus to leave the Federation. The room is similar in appearance to the Flag Bridge on the G.F.S. Olympus, featuring stations near the front and a higher floor with a platform, where the commander is positioned.

Adam, Samus, Anthony and an unnamed soldier with a ponytail are seen on the high floor, watching a live feed camera showing Ian Malkovich, Adam's brother, attempting to fix a malfunctioning drive unit on a civilian aircraft. It suddenly goes critical, and Adam orders that the unit be detached - sacrificing his brother - despite Samus's futile insistence that she can save him in time. A transcription of the scene dialogue is below.

AI: Ian has arrived at the drive unit.

Male Operator: Ian, be careful out there. I know this is a routine fix, but don't let your guard down. There are 300 people on board—their lives are in your hands.

Ian: Roger that. [drive unit goes critical]

Female Operator: Commander! The drive unit is going critical!

Male Operator: The unit is overheating beyond our estimates, sir!

Samus: Ian!

Male Operator: Commander Malkovich! Unit meltdown imminent! It's going to explode!

Adam: Prepare to disengage the drive unit immediately!

Female Operator: But Ian's still inside!

Samus: Adam, I can reach him! Give me the order, please!

Adam: Lock and secure the shielding doors now!

Samus: Adam, wait! There's still time! I can make it! Please let me go! I mean... That's Ian! That's your little brother out there!

Male Operator: We're out of time, sir!

Samus: Adam, please! Let me go! You have to trust me! Just give me a chance!

Adam: Commence drive-unit disposal immediately. That's an order.

BOTTLE SHIP[]

Stasis room[]

The "stasis room" is a nondescript chamber somewhere within the BOTTLE SHIP, potentially Sector Zero. It may represent an unexplorable room, and is only seen briefly during a flashback. As Samus is musing about what led MB to turn on her creators, MB is depicted in a room with three large stasis tanks behind her and one to her right. She regards an Infant Metroid - potentially that which later became the Queen Metroid - with motherly affection. She holds her hand up under it, which Samus also did with the baby, as seen in the flashback of its birth in Other M (and years later, during the recreation of the scene in Metroid: Samus Returns).

Unknown room[]

An unknown room is shown in the same scene, albeit not in great detail. The setting of this room is also unknown. It features a computer screen. MB is shown sitting at the desk, with Madeline coming behind her and remarking that her hairclip "looks great on you". The name "Melissa Bergman" is displayed on the screen, with Madeline telling MB "That's your name."
