Transport to Ghavoran[]
The shuttle from Elun to Ghavoran. Both ends of the shuttle are located in rocky caves, but unlike the Ghavoran side, this one contains no plantlife. This shuttle is the only way for Samus to access Elun.

Great bridge[]
A long metal bridge that leads to the facility of Elun itself. In the background are massive rock formations covered in what resembles moss. The first time Samus enters this room, a cutscene plays where she stands in front of the secure blast door. A spotlight shines on her, and the door opens automatically. This cutscene continues into the next room.
When Samus has defeated her first Chozo Soldier and returns to this room, she sees that the blast door has been opened and that the X Parasites are escaping from their quarantine, eager to infest all of ZDR. Much of the floor is now covered in a black liquid characteristic of the X in Dread; a single Chozo Zombie walks in this ooze and will attack Samus if it gets the chance.
The Quarantine 001 theme begins to play in this room.

Quarantine checkpoint[]
The "quarantine checkpoint" is a room in Elun. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is the main security checkpoint for Elun, located at its entrance. Its purpose is to prevent any unauthorized visitors from accessing the quarantine zone, or X Parasites from escaping it. When Samus Aran enters Elun, she runs across the bridge preceding it before stopping at a Blast Door in her way. It slowly opens and she enters this room, cautious. After the blast door closes behind Samus, a group of nine spherical robots with red eyes suddenly activate around her. Samus initially assumes them to be hostile and takes aim, waiting for them to make a move. Instead of attacking, the machines scan her, a process which takes about seven seconds before they deactivate. They presumably conclude she is not a threat, or detect either no trace of X in her system or the Chozo DNA she carries. A feminine AI (voiced by Holly Renaut[1]) says the following in Chozo:
“ | Scan complete. | „ |
—AI |
The blast door behind Samus remains closed, forcing her to proceed onward into the facility. With the security scan finished, the lights in the room come on, showing the eye-like machines are hanging from the ceiling. In the background of the room are a pair of black Chozo Soldier statues.
As Samus is leaving Elun, hundreds of X Parasites fly past Samus and escape into the planet.

Planetarium[]
A damaged planetarium of an unknown solar system. Unlike most models of solar systems in the Metroid series such as the Observatory in Glacier One or the model in Area 7, this one is not holographic. Alongside the models of the planets themselves are spinning murals that depict Mawkin Chozo (including Raven Beak) and Armadiggers.
Immediately after Samus steps into this room, she encounters a Chozo Zombie, her first X Parasite enemy in Dread. Onscreen tutorials explain the mechanics for the X and Samus' ability to safely absorb them thanks to her Metroid DNA transplant.

Plasma Beam room[]
The "Plasma Beam room" is a small chamber in lower Elun, initially accessible through a Morph Ball launcher. It is in a rather sad state, with rubble scattered along the floor and structures in the background damaged. Aside from this, three elongated banners with the Mawkin symbol hang on the wall in the background. The entrance is in a small alcove beneath an upper chamber containing a Chozo Statue, with the Plasma Beam encased in its Item Sphere. To reach it, Samus must shoot out Fake Blocks above her. Once collected, she can exit the room by shooting a Plasma Beam Cover behind her. While the room is devoid of enemies, Insects will scurry up a vent next to the entrance when startled.
