List of rooms in Metroid Dread
|
---|
This is a list of rooms in Ferenia in Metroid Dread. Larger rooms have their own pages and are linked here. Most of these names are unofficial; such names will be highlighted in quotation marks.
Transport to Dairon East[]
"Transport to Dairon East" is an elevator room and the first room explored in Ferenia. It is set inside the facility, with thin windows showing the caverns outside. The elevator is surrounded by two large pillars with an ornate design on their front. Aside from connecting to Dairon, it has no other significance.

Ferenia entrance shaft[]
The "Ferenia entrance shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is a tall, sectioned shaft. In the initial doorway, there is a wall and a staircase extending into the background, although Samus cannot climb it. Directly in front of her is a small tunnel she can vault through to reach a Total Recharge Station. Above this is another gap in the wall, which is too high for Samus to jump to. She must use a Grapple Point directly above her to reach it. This takes her into a sub-chamber with a large statue of a Chozo holding a long spear in its hands.
Samus can climb a blue magnetic strip on the wall to reach another gap, through which she can find a Shutter Platform. Directly in front of it is a generator that spawns Autsharps indefinitely, presenting a hazard. Behind the Shutter Platform in the background is an alcove with a red carpet stretching towards it, and multiple windows. This is likely what the staircase in the background below leads to. Regardless, Samus cannot enter this alcove as it is outside the playable plane.
Above this is a tunnel in the ceiling with an Energy Part. Samus can most easily reach this tunnel when she has the Space Jump, then lay two Bombs to get to the Part. At the very end of the tunnel is a pair of Pit Blocks in the floor, dropping Samus back down to the Shutter Platform.

Illuminated pool[]
The "illuminated pool" is a small room leading into Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. This entrance is placed on an upper ledge with a slight downward slope, and part of the ceiling slopes as well. The pool is in the center of the room and illuminated by sunlight shining through multiple windows on the back wall, hence the name. The wall is also covered in Chozo statuary. To cross the pool, a Grapple Point in the ceiling can be used. A small swarm of Yojimbee are present here.

Fresco hall[]
The "fresco hall" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This chamber is the first room in Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. Immediately upon entry, there is a Shutter Platform in the way, which closes if stepped on. The Flash Shift must be used to circumvent it. A Morph Ball tunnel is present underneath the platform, but is blocked by an E.M.M.I. Valve and therefore unable to be explored at first. In the background are two storage crates and two hanging cables, which sway slightly. One of the cables hangs to the floor and extends to the side wall, with the hanging portions of the cables casting a shadow on it.
Past the Shutter Platform is a large open chamber, with three Autool spawners above the rightmost wall. In the background are two streams of water flowing from open pipes. A bridge extends from the back wall into the chamber, with the very end of it usable as a platform. This portion is separated from the rest of the bridge by a barricade. Directly underneath the bridge, the floor slopes into two groups of four Pit Blocks, which lead to another chamber below.
Here, the water can be seen flowing downstream off of three ledges. The two streams combine into a third in the center of these ledges, flowing past a statue of a bowing Chozo. In the playable space, a wall with a fresco is present; after a cutscene, it is destroyed, with its rubble visible on the floor. Past it is a small zigzag-shaped alcove with two hanging cables and an elongated one, a pair of canisters and multiple large pipes in the background. This leads into the tunnel with the E.M.M.I. Valve. The sound of the waterfall is silenced in this portion of the room.

Reception[]
"Reception" is a small shaft located between the fresco hall and Quiet Robe's chamber. It is first explored off-screen, when Samus follows Quiet Robe through here into the chamber in which they have their conversation. Once he has been killed, and the Robot Chozo Soldier that killed him destroyed, Samus can exit back into this room. It is a short shaft with a single platform above the floor, which forms a ledge connected to a passage on the back wall. The passage, lined with a thin red carpet, is not an explorable path. On either side of the passage are a pair of statues of winged Chozo, with Mawkin tapestries to their sides.
Since it is not possible to go back through the fresco hall, Samus must grapple to a blue magnetic strip on the upper left wall to proceed out of the area. While Reception is devoid of enemies on the first visit, a Quetshocker takes up residence here once the X have been released.

Quiet Robe's chamber[]
"Quiet Robe's chamber" is a significant room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This chamber is found in lower Ferenia, and entered soon after Samus reaches the area. It only has one entrance, isolating it from much of the Chozo sanctuary. It appears to be domed, based on the shape of the wall and floor in the background. There is a large ledge on the left, connected to a ramp in the background. Besides the ledge, there are two higher platforms that are supported by a single buttress each. Hanging cables connect the two platforms, and wobble in the scenery, likely due to a slight wind from the open windows in the background.
The room's main feature is a central computer system of multiple holographic screens powered by a projector on the ceiling and surrounded by seven tall buttresses. While the projector remains on for the duration of Dread, emitting a blue light, the screens disappear after Samus returns from Elun.[1] To either side of the front of the projector are pieces of fallen debris; what caused them to fall and what they are part of is unknown.

Ventilation[]
"Ventilation" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This room is a small chamber accessible after Samus Aran meets Quiet Robe. It consists of a mini tunnel with a powerful Fan blowing to the right, below a short shaft with multiple platforms attached to the wall in the background. On the upper left of "Ventilation" is an enclosed space with narrow gaps on top of and alongside it. Part of the floor above it has been ripped out and left tipped into the hole. Three Chozo Soldier shields, with their spears crossed behind them, are hung on the wall next to the Fans. The top of the room (above the enclosed space) features three Chozo Soldier statues and three banners with the Mawkin symbol woven into them. Another banner is present to the right of the enclosure, which curiously disappears after the X Parasites are released from Elun. Directly under the enclosure is an etching on the wall that depicts two Zebesians with their claws extended forward.
To get past the Fan, Samus must run towards it with her Speed Booster active, and then either Shinespark or Wall Jump upwards. The latter can allow her to enter the enclosed area and retrieve a Missile+ Tank if she is quick enough. The enclosure features a pair of Fake Blocks on its upper left corner, Boost Blocks along its left side, and Pitfall Blocks underneath it. A tricky Shinespark or Ball Spark is required to get through the Boost Blocks and reach the item; if the move fails, Samus will drop through the Pitfall Blocks and have to start over. The easiest method has Samus run in from the next room, quickly jump to the top of the enclosure, Bomb the Fake Blocks and Ball or Shinespark through the Boost Blocks. A demonstration of this technique can be viewed here.
While more difficult, it is also possible to gain a Shinespark by running towards the Fan, and then quickly reach the Boost Block wall before Ball Sparking into it. A demonstration of this technique can be viewed here.

Transport to Dairon West[]
"Transport to Dairon West" is an elevator room first visited after the death of Quiet Robe. It provides a shortcut to the next Network Station in Dairon, where ADAM briefs Samus. The elevator room is rather non-descript, save for the background fresco. It depicts the Mawkin in combat with Zebesians at an unknown point in time. One of the Mawkin is shown grabbing a Zebesian by the claw and forcing it to kneel. The other Zebesians are depicted falling, similar to the Thoha Chozo in another fresco elsewhere in Ferenia. The fresco also depicts Mother Brain.

Shuttle to Ghavoran[]
The "Shuttle to Ghavoran" is a long outdoor hallway in Ferenia. It contains a Shuttle leading to and from Ghavoran. Three Chozo Soldier statues, appearing to wear skirts, stand in front of the entrance, each with a red flag bearing the Mawkin symbol. As Samus approaches the entrance to the Ferenia facility, the camera zooms out on an angle. She can use the runway here as a means to build up speed for her Speed Booster, in order to get a Missile+ Tank in the next room.

Flooded Sanctuary[]
The "Flooded Sanctuary" is a large room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This room is entered immediately after arriving in Ferenia via a Shuttle from Ghavoran. It is a large chamber with a lower half that is filled with water, hence the name.
The entrance is an automatic door with a spinning mechanism, which opens when approached. In immediate view from the entrance is a large, raised platform with a curved stairwell leading up to it in the background. Chozo statuary, a golden statue of a mysterious tusked creature, and tapestries bearing the Mawkin symbol are present in the background as well. Above the platform is a walkway with a narrow tunnel, partially lined with Pit Blocks. On either end of it are curved walls with windows showing the exterior of the Ferenia facility. Above Samus in the tunnel is a pair of Bomb Blocks; this is part of a notorious puzzle to obtain a Missile+ Tank (see below).
An alternate entrance from another room leads Samus into a concealed area with a Chozo Statue. The statue holds the Space Jump, a necessary upgrade for Samus's further progression. Once she collects it, Samus must drop into the flooded portion of the room, using the Grapple Beam to pull herself to blue magnetic strips. This is her only means of ascending in the water without the Gravity Suit. At the top, there is a Breakable Organic Block she can destroy to open up part of the floor in the sanctuary's main chamber, allowing her to return there.
In the background of this room's upper-right section, there is a faintly visible fresco that depicts Zebesian Space Pirates. It is a replica of part of a fresco near the western elevator to Dairon, depicting Zebesians standing in line, with one forced to kneel before a Chozo Soldier.

Glyph shaft[]
The "glyph shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. The "glyph shaft" is a medium-length shaft near the left entrance to Ferenia. It has a domed ceiling and artwork on the background wall that depicts a Chozo warrior holding something in the center, with a sun behind him. To either side of this are two etchings of three Chozo wearing loincloths and appearing to reach toward the center Chozo. Whether or not this represents Raven Beak is unknown. Directly underneath this is a ledge with a Storm Missile Box in front of a Missile Cover. On the first visit, this cannot be removed. Samus can shoot Beam Blocks in the floor to proceed further downwards, then enter a small tunnel, at the end of which is another set of Beam Blocks.
Destroying these drops Samus to the lowest floor, where three shields are displayed with two spears each in an X shape, and the wall is supported by two buttresses. Once Samus has the Storm Missiles, she can remove the box and Missile Cover and recover her Space Jump in the preceding room. The shaft is inhabited by Sabotoru, a Fulmite and a Gooshocker, the latter of which materializes into the room via a green X Parasite when Samus drops to the lower floor. The presence of the Sabotoru is the cause for the highest and lowest doors being permanently covered in a slick substance, while the central door remains unaffected.

Network Station[]
Ferenia's only Network Station is visited when Samus returns to the area. She receives one Adam Briefing here, with the room being dark and locking her in until she has communicated with him.
The briefing is as follows:
"This area, Ferenia, appears to have been a sanctuary. The Mawkin conducted ceremonies and rituals here. Now it all lies in ruin.
It was likely destroyed in the chaos following the X's arrival. That would match what Quiet Robe said.
They have turned it into a hive. I have also detected the presence of an unusually powerful X.
Recall that the E.M.M.I. in this area could see through terrain and stun targets with an electric shot.
My sensors indicate this E.M.M.I. has been reactivated. We can assume that Raven Beak is behind this too. Make good use of the Phantom Cloak and you should have nothing to fear.
Be careful, Samus."

Grand concourse[]
The "grand concourse" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. The concourse is a large hub room that connects to multiple regions of Ferenia, including the "Flooded Sanctuary", the lower shaft with the area's Teleportal, two entrances to the E.M.M.I. Zone, and one of Ferenia's freezing cold rooms. It features multiple floors with a large pillar at its upper center, that itself has protruding ledges on either side, and is above a wide platform. A small gap underneath the pillar gives enough room that Samus can Slide underneath it. These ledges feature curved staircases up to the top floor of the pillar, which cannot be accessed in gameplay and were likely used by the Mawkin before their downfall. As with much of Ferenia, windows are built into the walls, through which some of the exterior of Ferenia can be seen.
Under the wide platform is another, smaller ledge with two short staircases extending to its top in the background, and a central platform connected to the floor. These, again, cannot be used in gameplay. Present in background of the lowest floor are multiple Chozo works of art, including busts, displayed shields with spears in an X formation, and three Chozo Soldier statues standing tall with their spears in front of them.
When Samus returns to here on the lowest floor after acquiring the Storm Missiles, the floor is sealed off by four shutters blocking access to the exits and upper part of the concourse. Twin Robot Chozo Soldiers accost Samus and force her to do battle. When they are destroyed, the shutters lift, allowing Samus to continue.

Teleportal shaft[]
The "Teleportal shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. A long shaft located in the lower left region of Ferenia, this room features the area's sole Teleportal, which is colored blue. It can only be accessed from the outside, via a side tunnel on the top left floor. This is obstructed by Bomb Blocks.
In the background, what appears to be a central throne is present at the top of a short staircase that leads down to a forward-facing ledge. To either side of this are a pair of Mawkin shields with spears behind them in an X formation. Under the ledge, there is a large statue of the upper half of an armored Chozo, its hands around the hilt of a large sword. Banners adorned with the Mawkin symbol exist throughout the shaft, blowing in the light breeze from several open windows. The room's architecture is heavily supported by buttresses.
The statue rests on a ledge itself, and under this ledge is an elongated platform above a final platform structure. The platform extends into the background with a central red carpet, ending at a mural of a kneeling Chozo with an object in its hands and three worshippers on either side. Given the presence of a curved staircase on either side of this walkway, and two additional upright Chozo statues, it is possible that this room served as a museum of sorts for the native Mawkin. More Chozo statuary, shields and spears are present at the base of the structure and in a short hallway leading right, into the E.M.M.I. Zone.

Air duct[]
The "air duct" is a small, divided room accessed through the Teleportal and Ferenia west shafts via tunnels. Its left side is a small chamber with a single Ground Shocker, an elevated platform with Pitfall Blocks in the floor, and a Missile Tank in the ceiling. A Bomb Block chain in the ceiling is visible, and must be destroyed with a carefully timed Cross Bomb or Power Bomb. Then Samus must quickly jump up to the ledge with the Missile Tank to collect it, after which she can roll left to drop through another Pitfall Block and leave the air duct.
The right side of the air duct connects to the Teleportal shaft and is a small shaft itself with a tunnel above containing another Missile Tank. Underneath this is a square chamber with another tunnel that leads to the preceding shaft's Teleportal. It is the only way to access said Teleportal.

Water filtration[]
"Water filtration" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is a large room in Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. It is a partially-flooded corridor above the "fresco hall", to which it connects via a tunnel next to the pool of water. Said tunnel cannot be accessed until E.M.M.I.-06WB is destroyed, since an E.M.M.I. Valve blocks it and the robot itself uses it to enter this room. Being that it is directly above the hall, it is possible to see the tunnel with that room's Power Bomb Tank if Samus stands in the water. Two small grooves are present at either end of the submerged pool, which allow Samus to morph into them to avoid detection from the E.M.M.I.
As the name implies, water flows from multiple falls in the background of the room, being filtered by machines in the background. Despite the constant stream, the water level never rises. A large fan runs in the center background, and multiple long, thick cables connect from the fan into the walls and ceiling, with pipes extending into the background as well. These are likely part of the filtration system. In the playable foreground, there are two midair platforms with blue magnetic strips, and a longer strip on the ceiling to aid Samus in evading E.M.M.I.-06WB if they are in the room together.
Aside from the E.M.M.I., the room is inhabited by Autools, a swarm of Dizzeans in the water, and two Autectors. Each of them can get in Samus's way or draw the E.M.M.I.'s attention there. These enemies remain in "water filtration" when the E.M.M.I. is gone should Samus revisit it.

Ferenia basin[]
The "Ferenia basin" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is a very large room within Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone, containing a lower chamber with multiple platforms, and an upper shaft. Both of these contain exits from the E.M.M.I. Zone. They are divided in half by a thin tunnel, which is initially blocked at the top by an E.M.M.I. Valve. After E.M.M.I.-06WB is destroyed, the tunnel can be used to get between both halves.
The lower floor, the basin itself, is almost entirely flooded save for a small upper section. When Samus enters the room for the first time, she does so via a door into the pool of water. As she does not yet have her Gravity Suit, the water will constrict her movements, potentially endangering her if E.M.M.I.-06WB is in there with her. She can make use of multiple blue magnetic strips on the ceilings and walls to hide from the robot. A small number of artificial and organic enemies may also present minor hazards to Samus, or alert the E.M.M.I. to her presence.
Above the surface of the water is an exit from the E.M.M.I. Zone that leads towards the boss of Ferenia, Escue. Aside from this, there is a platform above that leads to an overhang with a small gap under which Samus can Slide. Past this is a Charge Beam Door that leads back into "water filtration", where Samus initially entered the basin from, except this door does not lead into the water.
The basin is re-entered through the door into the upper shaft soon after leaving the lower floor. A wall is present in front of the door with a gap the Morph Ball can fit through. There are more blue magnetic strips on the walls and ceilings that Samus can use to hide from the E.M.M.I. if it is inside. At the very top of the shaft are two exits: another path out of the Zone, and a path that delves further into it, toward the Central Unit.

Altar of power[]
The "altar of power" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. The "altar of power" is one of two shafts that serve as exit points for the Ferenia E.M.M.I. Zone through its "basin". The exit/entrance itself is on an elevated ledge above a platform that stretches from the background to an inaccessible walkway lined with a red carpet. A barrier can be seen at the end of this path, and four banners bearing the Mawkin insignia hang over the platform. The platform is surrounded by four upright pillars with ornate frontal designs, with the platform itself held up by a pillar adorned by three Chozo busts, each clutching the hilt of a spear.
There is a secret passage under the floor here that can be accessed by destroying two Bomb Blocks, leading to a T-shaped platform. This houses a mural of three Chozo appearing to be worshipping a sun. Under the T-shaped platform is another entrance back into the Ferenia basin in the E.M.M.I. Zone, and a drop leading to an exit. Here, there is a staircase in the background which cannot be accessed. Both of the aforementioned exits have a pair of buttresses and an upright Chozo Soldier statue next to them.

Flooded chamber 1[]
"Flooded chamber 1" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. It is a large room that is partially filled with water. The surface above contains much artificial machinery in the background, including cables, vent ducts, and a walkway with an outer railing. A sliding blue magnetic strip is present on the ceiling; this can be used to evade the E.M.M.I. should it follow Samus into the room. It leads to a ledge with a Charge Beam Door from the wrong side. Below this is a drop to a ledge with another Charge Beam Door that cannot be opened from this side. Samus therefore has no choice but to enter the water and proceed to the exit on the lower right. There are two platforms upheld by girders in the water, as well as two long magnetic strips on the ceiling and walls to help Samus hide from the E.M.M.I. The inhabitants of "Flooded chamber 1" after the E.M.M.I. is destroyed include one Autector, a Rodotuk, and a Dizzean swarm.

Flooded chamber 2[]
"Flooded chamber 2" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. It is another partially flooded room with an outer, dry section. The initial entrance is within the water-filled half, which contains an L-shaped platform, a midair platform connected to multiple background cables, a blue magnetic strip on the right wall, and a ledge on the upper left with another strip. Just above this is the surface, where a sliding strip can be found. This can help Samus evade the E.M.M.I. if it is chasing her. The dry area outside the pool has a spinning, round fan in the background, two platforms connected to the nearby infrastructure, an upturned canister next to an upright one, and an exit from the E.M.M.I. Zone. Apart from the E.M.M.I., the room is inhabited by a Dizzean swarm and a single Autool in the dry area.

Banquet hall[]
The "banquet hall" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. The hall serves as the rightmost exit for the E.M.M.I. Zone on the upper level. The exterior of the Ferenia facility can be seen from outside the walls, with one tower topped by a dome and protruding antennae. Most of the background walls have open windows with a breeze blowing in, agitating several banners adorned with the Mawkin symbol. A Charge Beam Door here brings Samus to a Save Station. Dropping down, Samus will land on a ledge above a Morph Ball tunnel, at the end of which is a trio of Pitfall Blocks.
These take her to the hall's lowest level, which features a short staircase extending up into the background, a central platform, a door on the left that brings Samus to a Total Recharge Station, a mural above the platform of six Chozo holding something up, red carpet lining the floor, and a curved passage leading into the background and to the right. Neither the staircase nor the passage are accessible. Underneath the platform another small tunnel with a Bomb Block and an Energy Part. At the end of the lowest level is a tunnel that takes Samus into the east shaft.

Ferenia east shaft[]
The "Ferenia east shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is the easternmost shaft in the area is placed at the very edge of the indoor facility Samus explores. A large tower with a round top and antenna is visible in the background, as are two tall statues of Chozo Soldiers with their spears pointed upwards. Audible gusts of wind can be heard as well. These structures are built atop the natural cave rock visible in the foreground. On the first visit, Escue and a Quetzoa are seen flying in the background, foreshadowing the battle with the former in the next room.[2] Several organic growths are present in the shaft; they were likely placed by nearby X Parasite-infected creatures.
Initially, it appears as a small chamber, but using Bombs or Beam shots reveals the rest of the shaft gradually, divided into sections by Beam Blocks. A section above contains a Missile Tank behind a Missile Block in the top right corner. At the very bottom right corner of the shaft is a set of Beam Blocks that lead to the lowest floor, with a Gobbler blocking the exit. On later visits, two Gooshockers take up residence here. One of them materializes into its form via an incoming X.

Escue's gazebo[]
"Escue's gazebo" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This room is tucked into a small corner on the eastern side of Ferenia, only accessible via a remote shaft. It features four open windows in the background, with buttresses, draped flags with the Mawkin symbol, and five large Chozo Soldier statues in multiple stances. The background wall appears to be round; hence the "gazebo" designation. The flags are affected by the wind in the background, which shows them to be partially torn at their ends.
One in the center of the room stands tall, with two kneeling beside him and the last two stood against the walls on either side. Each statue is carrying a spear, with the kneeling soldiers' spears turned so their tips are to the floor, while the center statue's spear is pointed toward the ceiling. The center statue does not resemble Raven Beak, implying that it is a high-ranking soldier under the Mawkin leader's command. A mysterious substance grows over parts of the floor and walls; this may represent X residue or another unknown substance.
When Samus enters this room, an X Parasite mimicking an especially powerful Quetzoa, Escue, flies in through the windows. Escue's flying in the background disturbs the Mawkin flags and causes them to blow in the wind even more. Once Escue is defeated by Samus, its Core-X can be absorbed to obtain the Storm Missile ability.
Should Samus revisit this room later, three Blindflies will have taken up residence.

Warrior statue chamber[]
The "warrior statue chamber" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. The "warrior statue chamber" is a corridor near the east side of Ferenia. Its entrance is situated on a perch, with a midair platform above that is connected to the wall in the background, two hanging banners bearing the Mawkin insignia, and a ledge in front of the entrance attached to an overhang. Underneath this overhang is a trio of upright Chozo Soldier statues, hence the room's name. The center statue wears "Chozo battle armor" adorned with a red cloak on the right shoulder, and red circles on the backs of his hand (not unlike that of Samus Aran's).
The other two statues depict regular soldiers holding shields in front of them with a red circle or eye in their center. This chamber is sealed from outside with a Storm Missile Box. A Total Recharge Station is present in a small alcove that can only be accessed from the next room. Samus passes through here on her path to Escue, and returns via a tunnel that takes her into the statue chamber from the other side of the Storm Missile Box. By this point, Samus will have the Storm Missiles themselves, and can use them to destroy the box and leave the room.

Transport to Hanubia[]
"Transport to Hanubia" is a short shaft at the top of Ferenia. As its name implies, it contains an elevator to Hanubia at its top, although if the elevator is taken before exploring the rest of Hanubia via Ghavoran, it is a dead end due to a Grapple Beam Block. Two statues of Chozo in armor with large tusks, sitting in a dog-like pose, are present on either side of the elevator. A Chozo Zombie inhabits this room, moving along a designated trail of its own substance on the floor. The lower half of the room is adorned with three tapestries with the Mawkin symbol over open windows in the background; flapping in the gentle breeze.

Freezer west[]
"Freezer west" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is one of two extremely cold rooms on the upper side of Ferenia. The initial entrance is a long corridor with a holographic display of the ship that brought the E.M.M.I. to ZDR. On either side of this hallway are two thick pillars with an ornate design on their front, a frozen banner displaying the Mawkin symbol, and a statue of what appears to be a perched Armadigger. Cables and icicles hang from the ceiling. Directly above and accessible via short tunnels is an Energy Recharge Station.
The left floor consists of Screw Attack Blocks. Destroying these brings Samus down another level, where a path to the right leads to a chain of Bomb Blocks, and further down is a shaft with two ledges, and an exit into the "grand concourse". Many icicles can be seen having frozen over the architecture in the background. Above the Bomb Block chain is a passage to another door, which leads into the adjacent freezer. Below that is a walled off chamber part of this room, but only accessible from the next through a Grapple Beam Door (the only one in Ferenia). The walled off chamber has little of note except another exit into the east freezer, and a passage downwards.
Dropping down, Samus will come to a tunnel that is obstructed with a Grapple Beam Block. After removing it, she will roll through a long tunnel partially made of solid ice that extends into the next freezer. This leads to a Missile Tank.

Freezer east[]
"Freezer east" is the second of two frozen rooms in upper Ferenia. It connects to "freezer west" via three doors and a tunnel. It has an upper section separated by a Plasma Beam Cover and Grapple Beam Door, and a lower section entered via Charge Beam Door. In the latter, two large pillars with ornate designs seen elsewhere in Ferenia are present. Past here is a tunnel obstructed with six Bomb Blocks; when destroyed, Samus emerges into a shaft with a thin ceiling of Screw Attack Blocks. Above this is a Storm Missile Box on the upper right, with its five Buttons located on the ceiling. When the Box is removed, Samus will come to the room's exit, which leads into the E.M.M.I. Zone. An ice tunnel under the floor that can only be entered from "freezer west" leads Samus to a Missile Tank. "Freezer east" is inhabited by four Blindflies, one Takumaku (which materializes from an arriving X) and 2 Autsnipers.

Ferenia E.M.M.I. Zone exit[]
The "Ferenia E.M.M.I. Zone exit" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. It is a long vertical shaft that begins with an alcove, entered via a tunnel, with a Charge Beam Door above. Another tunnel can be passed through to access the rest of the room. The background features in the shaft include large, curved pipes, metal barriers for an inaccessible walkway, a hatch resembling an E.M.M.I. Valve, long hanging wires and hooks, and multiple ledges and platforms. One such ledge has a blue magnetic strip underneath it, forming an upside-down L shape. At the top of the climb is an impenetrable ceiling with Power Beam and E.M.M.I. Zone Doors visible above. To enter the upper floor, Samus must get to it from the next room, which is accessible via tunnel. The upper floor has little else to speak of besides a wall with a Breakable Organic Block. When destroyed, it leaves a Morph Ball-sized gap at the top. The exit shaft's inhabitants, besides the E.M.M.I., are two Rodomithon-X and two Autools.

Ferenia E.M.M.I. confrontation room[]
The "Ferenia E.M.M.I. confrontation room" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is where Samus confronts E.M.M.I.-06WB after destroying the Central Unit of Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone and absorbing the Omega Cannon. It is a large, initially flooded room with two walls containing Breakable Organic Blocks as obstacles. Samus enters via a tunnel from the "Ferenia E.M.M.I. Zone exit", which ends with Pitfall Blocks that drop her into this room. As the E.M.M.I. is likely to be pursuing Samus at this point, she has little choice but to continue forward until she exits the water and reaches a tunnel on the upper right wall, which leads her into a platform shaft with the entrance to the Central Unit's room.
Once the Omega Cannon has been obtained, Samus can use it to destroy a switch, draining the confrontation room's water. She returns to it via a Morph Ball launcher and is immediately pursued by the E.M.M.I. She must quickly navigate a series of tunnels, shooting two Wide Beam Boxes and two Breakable Organic Blocks before the E.M.M.I. catches up with her. This path leads to an upper level with a pair of Shutters, which Samus must carefully pass with her Flash Shift. It brings her into a dead-end corridor where she can finish off the E.M.M.I. A sliding blue magnetic strip is above Samus here should she need to escape if the E.M.M.I. gets too close. Once the E.M.M.I. is destroyed, Samus recovers the Wave Beam from it.

Water platform shaft[]
The "water platform shaft" is the penultimate room of Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. Samus enters it via a slope she Slides into from the previous room. On first entry, there is nothing to do but proceed into the Central Unit's room and destroy it. Upon returning here, Samus can use the Omega Cannon to shoot a switch on the left wall. This lowers the platform and drains the water underneath it, giving Samus access to a Morph Ball launcher. This returns her into the previous room, where Samus confronts and destroys E.M.M.I.-06WB. After the E.M.M.I. is gone, the initial tunnel leading into this room is permanently sealed off. Samus can get into it again by destroying Power Bomb Blocks in the preceding room to access a new tunnel taking her onto the central platform.

Central Unit room[]
The "Central Unit room" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. Visually, these rooms are mostly identical, and are positioned deep into E.M.M.I. Zones. They often require new abilities to access. Each room features a resting dock for the Central Unit, from which it can detach, that is connected into the wall apparatus. Multiple upright tanks with bright lights are present behind this. Beside each Central Unit's resting dock is a pair of Chozo characters that read "CU", likely meaning Central Unit.[3] The rooms are sealed by unique Central Unit Doors. Once the Central Unit in each room is destroyed, the E.M.M.I. is alerted and the Zone's alarm triggers, causing the Chozo characters and tank lights to flash red. Each room can be revisited, although there is little point to doing so. Both Artaria rooms are entered from the left, and Cataris, Ghavoran and Ferenia from the right.

Niche 1[]
"Niche 1" is a small chamber that can only be accessed through a Bomb Block-obstructed tunnel in the Flooded Sanctuary. It features a slope on the left wall, with an alcove in the wall above containing a Missile Tank. This is concealed by a Breakable Organic Block. Samus must destroy it with the Wave Beam, and carefully Space Jump up to the tank, taking care not to fall through either of the two Pitfall Block floors below her. Afterwards, Samus can take another tunnel into an enclosed part of the Sanctuary, which leads to Ferenia's west shaft. Notable background features in the room include a vertical pipe, a large window, and "spikes" lining the foreground of the floor.

Armory[]
The "armory" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. This is a tall shaft that serves as an entrance into and exit out of Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. At the base of the shaft is a constantly flowing puddle of viscous black substance, which a Chozo Zombie moves along. This is located underneath a platform attached to a structure in the background, on either side of which is a large Chozo Soldier statue with its spear pointed in the ground. A door is present on the back wall above the platform, although it cannot be accessed by Samus. An ornate pattern exists above the door, potentially representing a sun.
A Storm Missile Box above prevents further progression until the upgrade is collected. Further up in the shaft is a stretch of hallway leading into the E.M.M.I. Zone, with three Mawkin shields and their accompanying spears on display. Directly above this is an Energy Recharge Station, and above that, a destructible ceiling with Screw Attack Blocks on the left, and Pitfall Blocks in the rest of it. Samus must make careful use of Bombs and jumps to reach a tunnel in the upper right side, which will take her to an Energy Part.

Niche 2[]
"Niche 2" is a small room accessible from the top of the "armory" in Ferenia after the Screw Attack is recovered. It features a short tunnel and a visible alcove with an Energy Part inside of it. By rolling to the middle of the tunnel, Samus can lay a Bomb to destroy a block in the floor and drop through a Pit Block, bringing her into the alcove after an additional Bomb Block. Once Samus collects the Energy Part, she can destroy a group of Screw Attack Blocks in the ceiling to return to the tunnel and leave.

Gooshocker freezer[]
The "Gooshocker freezer" is an extremely cold shaft on the left end of Ferenia. It serves as a minor junction between areas, and its sub-zero temperature requires the Gravity Suit to be navigated safely. It is inhabited by four Gooshockers, hence the name. The shaft features what appear to be large generators in the background, with walkways attached to ledges in the playable plane; it is never possible for Samus to move along these walkways. Said walkways are lined with metal barriers, which are also present on the uppermost central platform, that is itself attached to the ceiling with a girder. There are two more levels below, with the penultimate having Screw Attack Blocks in the floor. Ice deposits and icicles are ubiquitous in this room, growing underneath ceilings and platforms and along the walls.

Ferenia west shaft[]
The "Ferenia west shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread. It is the westernmost shaft in Ferenia. Its background is open to the exterior environment, with the dome housing Elun visible against the craggy cave rock outside. The shaft has multiple exits and entrances, the highest being a tunnel near the ceiling that connects to an alcove in the "Flooded Sanctuary". At the very top of the shaft is a group of hanging and tangled cables, with one stretching across a ledge and into another tunnel directly underneath, extending all the way into the "air duct".
The next platforms down are connected by scaffolding and rest above a thin floor with two Beam Blocks near the center. A short ramp here extends into the background and around to an unseen walkway lined with elongated barriers, one of which is not level. This floor leads down to an upside down T-shaped wall with two more barriers, another walkway extending into the background, and another portion of floor composed of Beam Blocks. Through these is a small drop with a door into the "Gooshocker freezer", which is at first a Wave Beam Cover.
As Samus continues down the shaft, there are further platforms and ledges, a large, titled disk on a ledge in the background, and a short ramp leading up and to the right, ending in a thin shaft. The west shaft ends with a longer ramp leading downwards, past a large tunnel in the background and near a tunnel exit into the second elevator to Dairon. These ramps are part of a Shinespark puzzle. To pull it off, Samus must run and Slide in from the Dairon elevator room and then Spin Jump so that she may keep speed-running up the large ramp. At the top, Samus must store a Shinespark, quickly jump up to the ledge above, Shinespark right to the smaller slope and continue running up it, then Shinespark up the thin shaft. This will destroy a group of Speed Booster Blocks at the top and allow her to collect an Energy Part.
