Transport to Temple Grounds[]
Transport to Temple Grounds is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The room itself contains the elevator system, a Luminoth security sensor array, a statue of E-Btr and two deceased Luminoth, both of whom were killed by what scans refer to as "Luminoth technology" (implying that the two unfortunate Luminoth were killed by rogue or possessed security robots). Directly linking to this room is the Temple Transport Access, in turn linking to the actual, fortified Sanctuary Entrance. Oddly, the scan terminal refers to Temple Grounds as the 'Luminoth Temple,' while elevators from the other areas identify it as the former name (this seems to be fixed in the Trilogy).

Temple Transport Access[]
Temple Transport Access is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is a long, narrow corridor with a security ring initially blocking progress. To pass, Samus must scan a nearby Interface Module. When she continues on, there will be another security ring blocking progress. To lower it, Samus must use a nearby Spinner. In the background there are two electro-dynamo wheels in an auto-run cycle, that are both part of a power generation system.

Power Junction[]
The Power Junction is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is a long corridor with a slightly larger, circular area in the middle. Two globes exist in this circular section. Scanning them says they are part of a light energy processing system, and produce power that is transferred to other parts of the fortress complex.
After obtaining the Spider Ball, Dark Samus's Phazon particles are found floating in the room towards the Sanctuary Entrance.
The Dark Aether version of this room was the Entrance Defense Hall.

Reactor Core[]
The Reactor Core is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Reactor Core is the central reactor of the Sanctuary Fortress. The reactor itself is a long pole through which two spheres have been placed; these are lined with magnetic material. It is situated in the center of the room; due to lack of maintenance, it is running on automatic function only. Surrounding its base are three cylindrical terminals displaying squares, and an indestructible glass dome encases the very top, with the bottom exposed. Electrical currents are fed from the top of the reactor into pods in the ceiling, and presumably throughout the rest of the Fortress. More poles with magnetic spheres are placed around the reactor; each sphere having a red marker indicating a point to Boost Jump off of.
Several Luminoth Tech Crates are scattered on the bottom floor. There are two transparent windows beside the entrance to the room, both contain units part of the reactor-maintenance system. Despite a lack of supplies, they are continuing to function. However, scanning them reveals that radiation levels from the technology in the Fortress have not yet crippled them, but continued exposure will ultimately lead to shutdown.
On the first visit, the doors will lock and Samus will be attacked for the first time by a rogue Quad. The doors will not unlock until it is defeated. After this, the room serves as a junction between areas of the Sanctuary Fortress, with no scripted enemy encounters beyond Rezbits that are generally present.
The Dark Aether version of this room is the Hive Reactor.

Sanctuary Map Station[]
The Sanctuary Map Station is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. As the name implies, it is the room that holds the Map Station for the Sanctuary Fortress. It cannot be accessed until Samus's Translator Module is upgraded to read cobalt Luminoth Lore Projectors, as the door to this room is blocked by a Translator Door. A Light Shaft that can be found in the middle of the room leads to a Missile Expansion.
The Dark Aether version of this room was the Hive Cache 1.

Minigyro Chamber[]
The Minigyro Chamber is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is a large room containing several rotating gyros in the middle. To deactivate them, Samus must use four Bomb Slots color-coded amber, cobalt, crimson and emerald. This code is showed on a scannable panel at the entrance. The color code is simple: the four gyros (amber, cobalt, crimson and emerald) need to be deactivated in alphabetical order. Upon subsequent returns to the room, three Harmony Class Drones will bomb Samus as she crosses through the morph ball track. From the control panel side, if Samus uses her Charge Beam, she can draw the closest Drone to the glass window outside of the track, causing it to slightly clip through the glass wall in front of her. Samus can target the exposed part and destroy the drone.
The Dark Aether equivalent of this room was the Unseen Way.

Hall of Combat Mastery[]
The Hall of Combat Mastery is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. This room is notable as the location of several Quads and Ingsmashers, the latter of which only attack Samus Aran when she returns to the room. The Spider Ball is required to enter a hole in the top of a wall to access Central Area Transport East, while a Power Bomb can destroy the glass tunnel leading to the Dark Portal and allow access to the rest of the room, which leads to the Agon Transport Access. The space around the glass tunnel is open the sky, which is uncommon for the indoor parts of the Sanctuary Fortress. The Hall of Combat Mastery also features several breakable panels similar to those of the Mine Security Station in Metroid Prime (although they are much sturdier than in Prime). Finally, some walls contain Morph Ball mazes with Phazon inside them.
The Dark Aetherian version of this room is Culling Chamber.

Temple Access[]
Temple Access is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. As the name implies, the room's purpose is to give Samus access to the Sanctuary Temple. There is a Kinetic Orb Cannon that must be activated using the Dark Visor and Seeker Missiles in tandem in order to use. The cannon can used by Samus to reach the higher floor of this room that otherwise is too high for her Space Jump alone to reach.
On first visit, a Quad sentry drone appears once Samus reaches the bottom floor and will lock the door to the Sanctuary Temple until both its body and head is eliminated. If only its head is destroyed, the Main Body will attempt to call in a replacement Command Module from an unknown shaft in the room above the Main Body.
The Dark Aether equivalent of this room is Hive Temple Access.

Sanctuary Temple[]
The Sanctuary Temple is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. This temple was one of three built by the Luminoth and it is located in the heart of the Fortress. It is a large, open space, with multiple platforms on tall legs, the largest of them in the very center. Spider Ball Tracks are present on some of them, and allow Samus to climb back up quickly should she fall or drop down. However, on her first visit she does not have the Spider Ball yet, as it was stolen from her during an earlier attack. She can use lower positioned ramps to re-ascend, however, and Grapple Points to swing across gaps between them. Luminoth Tech Crates are scattered throughout the Temple, on the platforms and floor.
The Temple sub-region containing the temple itself, Temple Access, Controller Access, and the Sanctuary Energy Controller. These are accessible via doors on each upper side of the Temple, reachable via Grapple Points. This constitutes the Temple as a junction room. Although primarily used for worship before the war, it was later repurposed as a construction site for two Quadraxis, a massive Quad. Only one of them was built, however, with disassembled parts of the other one present here.
When Samus enters the room for the first time, a pair of Quads are present here, but they are soon possessed by black fog and turned into Dark Quads. Samus is not required to fight them and can simply proceed to the Energy Controller. One of the other doors is blocked by a Translator Door; once Samus has interfaced with the hologram of O-Lir in the Energy Controller, she can lower the Translator Door by scanning it. This door leads to the Fortress's primary boss, the Spider Guardian.
The Dark Aether equivalent of the Sanctuary Temple is the Hive Temple, where the fully constructed Quadraxis is fought. Once destroyed, Samus passes through the Sanctuary Temple one last time to restore the area's energy.

Sentinel's Path[]
The Sentinel's Path is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Sentinel's Path is connected to the Sanctuary Temple. Upon the first entry, a single Quad seems to jump from the ceiling of the room, where it may have been laying in ambush. After defeating Quadraxis it is replaced by two Mekenobites. An Echo Key Beam System blocks access to a missile expansion behind a broken wall in the middle of the room.
Strange enough, the path can be entered from only one direction, unless Samus has acquired the Annihilator Beam. This makes the path useless as a shortcut until after Quadraxis's defeat.

Sequence Breaking[]
It is possible to cross this room without the Grapple Beam and without entering the dark world equivalent by using an R-dash off of a maintenance unit to land on another maintenance unit, and then performing another to land on the platform. However, it must be done when the maintenance unit is in a certain position, otherwise Samus will fall. If this happens, the jump can no longer be performed and the game must be reset.[1]

Vault[]
The Vault is a large, open room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The room has no ceiling or floor, with a long drop if Samus happens to fall. A massive cylindrical Luminoth vault chamber can be entered, but it covers up an important item for further exploration: the Screw Attack. As no known weapon can penetrate the chamber, Samus must instead complete a puzzle. At the bottom of her chamber, there is an Interface Module, that once scanned, lowers a bridge for Samus to use to gain access to a Dark Portal. This will lead her to the Vault Attack Portal, and she must cross the chasm using the Grapple Points to reach the other side, which contains a Light Portal. This will take Samus to the other side of the Vault, where she must jump to several platforms containing Luminoth laser turrets, arrays that will channel solar energy at the vault chamber. Samus has to operate several Spinners on the platforms to rotate them properly, and then make her way back to the inside of the vault chamber, where she can lay a Bomb in a Bomb Slot and thus cause the vault chamber to retract, giving her access to the Screw Attack.

Checkpoint Station[]
The Checkpoint Station is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The station is a medium-sized room filled with many crates and some Phazon containers. Upon entering it for the first time, Dark Samus is seen fighting and killing three Dark Pirate Troopers. This confirms she is not an ally of the Ing. After finishing them off, she will start to absorb the Phazon from the two canisters near a burning fire. Two more canisters can be seen outside the room sitting on a ledge; these are only present on the first visit. When Samus gets through to the section of the room where Dark Samus was, she will be gone. Samus can destroy the 20 crates scattered about the room to refill her energy and ammunition before facing Dark Samus in the next room. When Dark Samus is defeated and Samus returns to this room, all doors will lock, and Samus will have to destroy a cloaked maintenance unit, which can only be seen with the Echo Visor, in the top corner of the room to unlock them.
The Dark Aether version of this room was the Hive Gyro Access.

Aerie Access[]
Aerie Access is a room in the Sanctuary Fortress. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. This room serves as the location for the second battle against Dark Samus. After a period of time, the elevator arrives at Aerie and Samus Aran defeats her there. After Dark Samus's defeat, the room becomes a normal elevator, skipping this room. The Aerie Access is a long tube. The elevator itself is a platform shielded by glass, with 3 pillars in a triangular formation, giving Samus some cover against Dark Samus's attacks. Unlike other elevators, she does not need to scan the Interface Module to activate it, as Dark Samus pounds on it with the back of her fist.
