---|
This is a list of rooms in Ceres Space Colony in Super Metroid. Larger rooms have their own pages and are linked here. Most of these names are unofficial; such names will be highlighted in quotation marks.
Ceres Elevator room[]

Full view.
The "Ceres Elevator room" is the first room on the Ceres Space Colony, and it is also the first room in the game. Samus arrives after the Demo Screen. It is a long blue shaft with a total of eight platforms; the elevator at the top center, three platforms on the left, two in the center, and two on the right. The door in this room leads into a hallway on the right. During the countdown, the door explodes, preventing Samus from going back through it. This, along with the confrontation room, are the only two rooms to use Mode 7 rendering.

Lab[]

The lab was a laboratory for biological studies at the Space Science Academy on Ceres. The lab features a containment tube, Bioreactor System and computers in the center of the room, and more computer monitors extending into the background.
The lab was where the baby was contained for study by the scientists when Samus brought it to them, having spared its life on SR388. After Ridley seizes the baby from the station, Samus finds its large containment tube broken and three dead scientists on the ground. Shortly afterward, the lab is destroyed following the Ceres Space Colony's countdown.
The lab is also depicted on the Super Metroid Title Screen. While the scientist bodies are still on the floor, the baby is stored in its capsule, seemingly undisturbed.

Ceres confrontation room[]

The "Ceres confrontation room" is a room on Ceres Space Colony. It appears in Super Metroid and is the last room to be explored on Ceres. Visually, the room is unremarkable. It is a plain blue room with no visible ceiling and the door is situated on a platform to the left. The door leads back into the "58 Escape hallway", with nothing on the right.
The baby is found on the floor in its capsule, seemingly undisturbed. Samus cannot interact with it. After about nine or ten seconds, Ridley will appear from the darkness, holding the Metroid, and attack Samus. A short battle ensues in which Samus either sustains too much damage and Ridley escapes, or Samus damages Ridley enough that he drops the capsule, but quickly picks it back up. Either way, he escapes afterwards and flees the colony, but not before setting it to self-destruct.
