Magmoor Caverns Entrance, also known as Lava Caves (Burning Trail) (ラヴァケイブス(バーニングトレイル)?),[1] is a theme in Metroid Prime.

Description[]

Magmoor Caverns Entrance is first heard upon Samus Aran's first trip to the Magmoor Caverns (if entered using the straightforward route from the Chozo Ruins) and plays in the Burning Trail (hence the name) and Lake Tunnel rooms. The rest of the Caverns plays the faster-paced Magmoor Caverns theme, which in turn is a remix of the Ridley's Lair music in Super Metroid. In Metroid Prime Remastered, the track can be unlocked in the Soundtrack Gallery, where it received its first English title. There it is represented by an image of the Monitor Station, even though this track never plays in that room.

This is a slow theme with persistent heavy drum beats, rolling cymbals, and an ominous male choir. The choir is singing a recurring melody previously heard as quiet ambience in the Ancient Chozo Ruins and Chozo Ruins tracks, but now presented in a more overtly menacing tone to signify the dangerous environment. While not a direct remix of Norfair Hot Lava Area, the theme of upper Norfair from Super Metroid, Magmoor Caverns Entrance is composed in a similar fashion as that theme.

The Bryyo Fire theme in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Bryyo Naka, also resembles the Magmoor Caverns Entrance theme.

In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, an extended arrangement of Magmoor Caverns is heard in the Flare Pool. In addition to the returning choir melody, an underscoring low choir is especially evocative of the Norfair Hot Lava Area theme. Midway through the track, the track's melody is given a rising cadence similar to the Magmoor Caverns theme.
