The Main Docking Bay is a room aboard the Frigate Orpheon in Metroid Prime. The second room in the game, it is not actually named in the game's Map, and is instead considered part of the Exterior Docking Hangar. It is, however, named in a scan of the Door that leads into it, despite being a corridor and not an actual landing site as the Hangar is.
It is a mostly unimportant hallway. Upon entering for the first time, a vent blows steam into Samus's HUD, which causes it to fog up. The room is entirely mechanical. Holograms on the left wall provide insight into the operations of the Frigate, as well as the current status of the three decks on the ship. Decks Gamma and Beta are said to have normal environments, but Deck Alpha is described as "unstable". This is the first hint of an abnormality on this deck. Samus later encounters the Parasite Queen in the Reactor Core and destroys it, leading to the ship's crash onto Tallon IV.

Trivia[]
- The Main Docking Bay along with the Exterior Docking Hangar are known together as 01_intro_hanger internally.
- When Samus is escaping during the countdown, the door leading to the Exterior Docking Hangar has its scan missing. Furthermore, the scans on the wall also disappear.
