Maintenance Shaft AU

Maintenance Shaft AU is a room in the floating cloud-city SkyTown, of planet Elysia in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It is a fairly long but small room that is the south-eastern room of the Aurora Unit complex.

Description[]

The room consists of two ledges at each end, separated by a large gulf that can only be crossed via a higher ledge in the centre of the room. At each edge of this section is a Grab Ledge. On the south wall are several Chozo runes that are very similar to the appearance of the Chozo Artifacts of Tallon IV and glow a bright turquoise. Many Sky Puffers patrol the room and can make progression hazardous.

Development notes[]

The room's internal name is 0y05_skytown_ledgegrab, referencing the Grab Ledges used to cross the room. The keyword skytown indicates Skytown, Elysia, and the prefix 0y05 indicates that this is the fifth of 22 pod corridors throughout the planet.
