A maintenance platform is a rising and lowering platform present in the Security Station of SkyTown, Elysia. When Samus first enters the room, it is divided into two halves by a gear. To enter the other side of the room, Samus must step onto the platform and wait for it to rise up. It will rise to a small hole that she can roll through in Morph Ball form to the other side, where there is a Combination Lock. She can use the lock to turn the gear and remove it as an obstruction. After this, the platform will shut down and remain stuck in its position. The platform itself is thin and brown-colored, and appears to have several "fang"-like constructs on its underside.
