Megan Fausti is an American video game writer. They were hired as a writer at Retro Studios in July 2020, meaning they could potentially contribute to Metroid Prime 4.
Their Linkedin profile states they had left Retro Studios at May 2022 and moved to Certain Affinity.
In 2015, following an article published by The Mary Sue that suggested Samus Aran was a transgender woman (which cited a potentially transphobic statement made by Hirofumi Matsuoka in 1994), Fausti tweeted their support for the idea and personal belief that Samus is and will be transgender.[1] This tweet was liked by the article's author Brianna Wu, but it has since been deleted.
They previously worked as a writer at Respawn Entertainment, where they were one of several writers for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Coincidentally, that game's director Stig Asmussen said in 2019 that the game's atmosphere was influenced by Metroid Prime, and that it uses a Metroidvania style of gameplay.[2][3]
Fausti began their career at Adult Swim Games, first as a writing intern and QA tester, and eventually becoming writer for Battle Chef Brigade.
Fausti uses they/them pronouns as indicated by their LinkedIn.
