Melanie "Mel" Peyton-Smith is an Australian stunt performer and former acrobatic gymnast. She portrayed Samus Aran and the SA-X in "Parasite", for which she performed a high jump and spin in the air before landing, and a long drop. The former can be seen in her stunt reel here at 51 seconds in. Peyton-Smith's role as Samus and the SA-X was unknown until Bruce Hunt revealed her identity in an interview with Shinesparkers in 2023.

She also trained Margot Robbie for her role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad.

In 2013, Peyton-Smith was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which was surgically removed. She has since made a full recovery.
