Metroid Dread Announcement Trailer.jpg

Metroid Dread - Announcement Trailer is the official announcement trailer for Metroid Dread. It was shown during the Nintendo Direct on June 15, 2021.

The trailer begins with Samus Aran, now wearing a new suit, landing in an unknown facility. "METROID 5" is displayed onscreen. As Samus explores the area, an E.M.M.I. stands above her. Samus shoots at it several times, to no avail. She begins to run, commencing a gameplay sequence in which the E.M.M.I. chases her through a series of mechanical rooms. Eventually, it corners her, grabs her by the neck and fires a blast at her. The game's logo is then displayed.

A sequence of gameplay clips follows, showing Samus navigating cavern rooms, Wall Jumping, shooting, shooting what appears to be the Spazer Beam, using the Melee Counter and a new related technique called the Dash Melee, emerging from a machine, confronting another E.M.M.I., sliding, interfacing with a Central Unit, acquiring a new suit, using the Phantom Cloak to hide from an E.M.M.I., using the Spider Magnet and a sliding wall panel, and a massive monster with a tail. There is also a brief glimpse of a Chozo character that previously appeared in Chozo Memories in Metroid: Samus Returns. The trailer ends with Samus being cornered by another E.M.M.I. After this, the game's logo is displayed, along with its release date, October 8, 2021.
