Metroid Dread - Out now! is the official launch trailer for Metroid Dread. It was uploaded to Nintendo UK and Australia's YouTube channels, and the Nintendo of Europe and UK Twitter accounts on October 8, 2021, the worldwide release date of Dread. The UK version can be viewed here, and the Australian version here.

Description[]

The trailer begins with Samus Aran regaining consciousness in Artaria. Flashes of the introduction are shown, including the transmitted footage of an X Parasite, schematics for the E.M.M.I., Samus flying to ZDR, descending into Artaria, and her confrontation with Raven Beak, with distorted excerpts of ADAM speaking. After this, the screen displays "Samus Aran, the galaxy's greatest Bounty Hunter, is back". As Samus stands up and examines her left hand, ADAM says "I've run a full analysis. My readings indicate dramatic physical changes in you. You might call it physical amnesia."

Gameplay ensues, with clips including Samus Sliding under a gap, running through a darkened Map Station, powering a generator in Dairon, using blue magnetic strips in Cataris and Artaria, navigating Morph Ball tunnels, approaching a Teleportal, shooting a Caterzilla, Obsydomithon and Sclawks, the first Muzby encounter and Melee Counter, and escaping the room in Artaria that rapidly overheats. The Theme of Samus plays during this part of the trailer.

The first scene with E.M.M.I.-04SB follows, with the trailer indicating that "The hunter becomes the hunted!" The Fear experience theme plays as Samus escapes the E.M.M.I. and blocks it with a Shutter, then flees from the robot as it catches up with her. It detects Samus when a Charge Beam Door she shot delays opening, and catches her in the next room. Right before it kills her, the screen asks "Will you escape planet ZDR?"

Another sequence of clips follows, beginning with Samus re-acquiring the Varia Suit, over which the Item Acquisition Fanfare plays. The clips include Samus running toward the mural in the "fresco hall" and across the "geothermal bridge", destroying a Breakable Organic Block, using the Phantom Cloak to hide from E.M.M.I.-04SB, dropping into "Drogyga's domain" and deeper into Burenia, grapple-towing a large obstruction, acquiring the Flash Shift, firing at 04SB, Raven Beak and into Kraid's mouth, acquiring the Gravity Suit, Flash Shifting over a Shutter Platform, the Speed Booster, a Morph Ball launcher, a Shinespark, the battle with Experiment No. Z-57, a montage of the Chozo Memories, and Kraid roaring.

As the clips continue, the self-destruct timer begins to play over the music. The final clips include Samus countering the Elite Chozo Soldier and Raven Beak, the latter about to finish her off in their first encounter, and Samus's body suddenly surging after that. Samus's furious scream is heard as the timer grows more frantic, followed by another series of clips of the introduction's Metroid, X and E.M.M.I. schematics, the X footage, E.M.M.I.-02SM and its perspective of Samus. On the last clip, the screen zooms out to show Dread running on a Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, as the Joy-Cons slide into place, and the system slides into its Dock while displaying a closeup of Samus's face. The camera zooms out to show the Switch launch, OLED and Lite models, the game's logo, box art, Switch, Nintendo and eShop logos, and a clip of Corpius' death in the top left corner, along with the message "Out now!"

"Samus Aran's next mission begins…today.

Metroid Dread is out now on Nintendo Switch!"[1]

This is Nintendo UK's version of the tweet. The only different with Nintendo of Europe's is that Metroid Dread and Nintendo Switch are hashtags.[2]
