Metroid Fusion - Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online is a two minute and seven second-long trailer for the re-release of Metroid Fusion on the Game Boy Advance component of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. It was uploaded to the Nintendo YouTube channel on March 2, 2023, mere days before the game's re-release on March 9.

The trailer can be viewed here: [1] The European version is titled Metroid Fusion comes to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack March 9th!

Synopsis[]

The trailer begins with the Nintendo Switch logo, followed by the "Nintendo Presents" portion of the game's attract mode. The trailer cuts to Samus Aran's Starship speeding towards the Biologic Space Laboratories research station as the music transitions from the opening theme to Facing a Huge Reaction. It then returns to the attract mode, displaying the title "Metroid 4", before gameplay clips commence.

These include Samus exiting her ship in the Docking Bays; firing Missiles at several X Parasite Hornoads in Sector 1 (SRX); turning to face several Zombie Researchers in a dark hallway; Wall Jumping; killing a Gadora; using a ceiling ladder to cross a lava pit in Sector 1 and reach a Missile Tank; jumping across a chasm and entering Morph Ball mode to pass under an overhang; and finally boarding the Main Elevator. After Samus descends, the wall explodes and the SA-X introduction cutscene plays, with the infamous closeup on its face slightly accelerated. Facing a Huge Reaction stops as the SA-X emerges, with Environmental Sound (Shock) playing briefly instead.

As Samus descends the elevator shaft, the music changes to the Sector 1 theme, before she runs towards the elevators leading to Sector 1, 3, and 5. Succeeding gameplay depicts Samus clearing out an atmospheric stabilizer in Sector 1; using Morph Ball Bombs to uncover a tunnel in Sector 6 (NOC); bypassing a red Zero in Sector 2 (TRO); using the Spin Jump Attack on a Geruta in Sector 3 (PYR); evading the Elephant Bird's Beam Core-X; destroying a blue Geron; X materializing into Arachnus, and Bombing the floor to enter another tunnel.

Next, the music changes to X Invasion Detection as Samus has her first encounter with the SA-X, from which she hides in the ceiling above. The screen flashes and shows more gameplay: Samus blowing open an alternate exit on the Operations Deck; battling the Barrier Core-X; evading Zebesians in a shaft; being swallowed by Zazabi after firing into it; Security Robot B.O.X.'s first ambush; shooting Blue X to stun them; destroying Nightmare's mask; confronting Nettori; using the Speed Booster in Sector 4 (AQA); the SA-X firing at Samus (with the low energy alert sound playing), and then chasing her into a chamber where Samus hides behind a wall. The music stops as the SA-X walks in, and the trailer fades to black. A monochrome image of Samus fainting from her X infection in the prologue suddenly flashes as an explosion is heard.

The Title Screen appears next, with the Fusion version of Title and the SA-X's footsteps playing in the background. On the Title Screen, a yellow X Parasite levitates around before morphing into the words "Available March 9" at the bottom of the screen. At the end, the trailer shows the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack key art and a link to the service as Landing Aboard The BSL Station plays in the background.

Description[]

While lending mission support on planet SR388, interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran is attacked by an X parasite, an organism with the ability to mimic the abilities of any creature it infects. Near death, Samus is saved by a vaccine made from the DNA of the last Metroid—the X parasite's only natural predator. When the X spread to a research station in orbit around SR388, a weakened Samus is forced to exterminate them all...or die trying.

Experience classic Metroid game play as Samus explores the secret passages of a massive research station teeming with hostile life-forms. Master moves such as clinging to ledges, leaping to high ladders, and firing new weapons like Diffusion Missiles. Along the way, collect classic power-ups like the Morph Ball, Screw Attack, and Wave Beam. All these skills will be useful when you encounter the SA-X, an unstoppable X mimicking Samus, which is on the loose and could be just around the corner...
