Fusion Suit old concept

"Metroid IV Teaser" is a minute and a half-long teaser trailer announcing Metroid IV (later known as Metroid Fusion), airing at E3 2001.

The teaser starts off with speeding stars as the Screw Attack logo is in the center of the screen before being slightly altered to a stylized, more curved shape. It then states "Welcome to a New Mission" in digital font, before a wormhole-like environment appears and shows a ship (possibly an early version of Biologic Space Laboratories research station) in the distance as it grows closer. A substance then grows on the vessel that forms "IV" (the Roman numeric for 4), with two searchlights then forming a variation of the Metroid logo.

It then cuts to subtitles saying "Execute 'FUSION PROG.'" as a computerized screen (presumably Adam) gives details. The font is in an illegible alien language, though it nevertheless communicates via images that Samus Aran is being fused with Metroid DNA. After the images of a Metroid and Samus's Varia Suit merge together, the subtitles declare "Fusion completed." It cuts to an FMV of Samus in a new suit as more alien text appears before she jumps off-screen.

It then shows off some gameplay, including Samus using a rapid-fire version of her power beam that takes out blob-like enemies; Samus using the Screw Attack to take out the same blob-like enemies; Samus going through a hallway with windows into space while taking out a Sidehopper (although not without being hit in the process); Samus jumping up and then displaying a new ability of walking on the ceiling and walls; Samus using a variation of the Screw Attack to jump all the way to the other side of a wall; Samus attempting to access a terminal (presumably either a Map Station or a Data Room) only to be denied access; Samus running up a wall as alarms and explosions are occurring (presumably either a Countdown or chase sequence); and Samus standing in place. The camera zooms in on Samus and switches to another FMV where Samus fires her arm cannon at the screen, and then the trailer ends.
