Synposis[]
It starts with a message stating that the following events occur on Cosmic Year 20X9 at a Galactic Federation Research Facility. It then shows Samus's Gunship landing on the planet the research facility was located on. Samus then jumps off and remotely dismisses the ship before panning back and transitioning to first person view, also revealing that the planet was under attack from Space Pirate forces, including ships resembling Space Pirate destroyers.
The gameplay shown is as follows:
- Samus moving forward and selecting the Missile Launcher as a turret explodes nearby.
- Samus approaching the facility while entering a shootout with some Space Pirates, with some firing at Galactic Federation soldiers before being shot by the latter.
- Samus traversing a corridor before a piece of piping rolls down a slope in front of her. Samus then traverses up the slope and uses the Scan Visor on a near-dead Space Pirate, with it stating its injuries in a similar manner to the Frigate Orpheon Space Pirates in Metroid Prime. Samus then turns to a grate, blows it up with a Missile Launcher, and enters Morph Ball mode.
- Presumably continuing from when the above left off, Samus then traverses the various ducts, as Space Pirates are congregating at a door nearby with the implied intention of breaching it. After going through a tunnel, she emerges on the other side just as the Space Pirates breach the door in a violent explosion and enters a firefight.
- A Space Pirate pod crashes through the roof, with two Space Pirates emerging in a cutscene before gameplay shows Samus shooting at them. Blue energy beams can be seen hitting the Space Pirates during this time, implying that Samus can work in tandem with the Galactic Marines at some point in the game.
It then cuts to a large room with Samus flipping and crouching as the room is being breached. Several Space Pirates then enter from the burning rubble alongside Sylux and two tamed Mochtroids. Samus and Sylux then stare each other down as the logo is shown off.
It then ends with Samus emerging on a jungle-like world while blueish flying alien creatures pass by as it states the release date of 2025.
