Metroid Prime Trailer 1
The Metroid Prime Nintendo GameCube Preview DVD trailer is a trailer that was included in the Nintendo GameCube Preview Disc DVD. It is an early trailer for the original Metroid Prime.
The beginning of the trailer features a slightly cut version of the opening scene in the game, with the silhouettes of the Nintendo and Retro Studios logos zooming in to the background.
The gameplay footage shown in the trailer predominately consists of battles against the Space Pirates aboard the Frigate Orpheon, as well as exploration of various areas of Tallon IV, such as the Phendrana Drifts and Chozo Ruins. It also included some footage of some bosses such as Thardus, the Incinerator Drone, and the Parasite Queen.
Some of the footage in the trailer was reused for the Metroid Prime entry in The Metroid Legacy, also on the Nintendo Preview DVD.
In addition, the trailer was notable for featuring a guitar riff theme that was not present at all in the actual game, and was reused for its entry in The Metroid Legacy (acting as the only exception to the entries playing unedited audio in the clips representing each of the games up to that point).
