The Mirror Array is a simple mechanical device in Metroid Prime located in the Sunchamber. It is designed to produce artificial sunlight in order to keep the mutant plant, Flaahgra alive. Samus Aran is required to knock it offline by firing her weapons at the red orb on the reflector.
Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion: Prima's Official Strategy Guide refers to them as "reflectors", whereas Metroid Prime: The Official Nintendo Player's Guide calls them "radar dishes".
Firing at the red core with the Power Beam results in a minor tilt so Samus should utilize rapid fire to completely tilt it offline. A missile or Charge Beam shot will knock it offline in one shot. When a Mirror array is shut off, Flaahgra will very slightly be temporarily stunned unless it was the last Mirror array online in which case the plant will be dramatically weakened. If there are multiple Mirror arrays active in a group and at least one remains active, Flaahgra will attempt to reactivate a downed Mirror array with a powerful swipe after the creature comes to its senses.
If other beams are obtained through Sequence Breaking before Flaahgra is fought, they are shown to be ineffective against the Mirror Arrays.
