A Nailong[1] is a creature found in Dairon on ZDR.
Description[]
They are yellow wasp-like enemies which fly around on four wings. Five blue thorns grow out of their heads. When they see Samus, they stop in the air near her before turning to face the screen, and quickly ejecting the thorns from their bodies. When their needles are ejected, they turn red and the Nailong appears to unfurl slightly.
The spikes emerge from the Nailong's body before firing, and are unleashed in a circular fashion. This attack is similar to the spikes fired by a Cacatac in Super Metroid. One spike hitting Samus can deal 20 units of damage. The spikes cannot be destroyed with her weapons.
The X Parasites form hybrids of the Nailong and the Slaaga called Nailuggers later in the game. A similar aquatic creature called Depthorn can also be found naturally in Burenia.
One Nailong is present in "Bioweapon Storage", a room in Hanubia where it and other specimens are kept in stasis.
