New Play Control! range

The New Play Control! range.

The New Play Control! series (known in Japan as Wii de Asobu) is a selection of Nintendo GameCube games ported and upgraded for play on the Wii by Nintendo. The releases include graphical enhancement and motion sensing controls for the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, among other additional bonuses. There are two games from the Prime Trilogy now re-released for Wii, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Both feature a similar control scheme to the one used in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. In the U.S., Europe, and Australia, the three games were released together as the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

New Play Control! Metroid Prime[]

Metroid Prime was released in its Wii form in Japan on February 19, 2009. The menu interface is largely the same but has had some changes. The Bonus Credit system introduced in Corruption returns here, and is used to unlock the Fusion Suit, while Metroid is no longer available as a bonus. The Screen-Shot Tool has been implemented, and the Scan Visor reticule has been changed.

New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes[]

Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes was released on June 11, 2009. The Multiplayer mode returns, although the Data Network style of menu has been replaced with one like Corruption.
