“ | Samus Aran doesn’t say much, but when she does, she really means it. I am so lucky to have voiced such a strong character and I am LOVING your reactions. Thank you, thank you so much for appreciating my work. You guys are the best.

—Nikki García[1] |
Nieves "Nikki" García is a Spanish television presenter, voice actress and singer. García was the voice of Samus Aran for a single line in Metroid Dread, when Samus is speaking to Quiet Robe.
Her other roles include Princess Jasmine in the Castilian Spanish dub of the 2019 Aladdin live-action remake, Aneska in Spacelords[2] (which, like Metroid Dread, was also developed by MercurySteam) and Polina Petrova in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone.
García is the presenter for El Mundo Today, a satirical newspaper published in Spain. She released a five track extended play, We've Got Something, in 2017. García also provided the voice of the Google Maps GPS in Spain; a clip she tweeted of herself speaking along with the voice went viral.[3]

—Samus |
García confirmed she was Samus's voice actress in posts to her social media.[4] Her line was used across all language dubs[5] and recorded in Madrid, Spain at the direction of Stephen Hughes. [6][7] He commented that García needed no direction and recorded her line "practically" in a single take, which was used in Dread. They were given the English and Chozo versions of their lines to provide context and a reference point.[8]
Although García alluded in a tweet to recording Samus's scream of rage near the end of Dread[9], Holly Renaut later came forward and said she recorded it.[10]
She is the third voice actress to record spoken dialogue for Samus in a Metroid game, succeeding Jessica Erin Martin and Ai Kobayashi, who voiced Samus in English and Japanese in Metroid: Other M.
After García finished recording her role as Leah in the Metroidvania game Eden Genesis, the development team gifted her with a drawing of her as Samus.[11]

- ^ Rough translation: "This was pretty cool because: 1. Speak an invented language ¶ 2. Being the original voice of a character in ALL THE PLANET is quite strong."
