The Nintendo Fusion Tour was a touring music festival sponsored by Nintendo. that provided exposure for then unknown bands, including My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. As it was sponsored by Nintendo, many of their games were provided for play. The tour was first held in 2003, but it has not been held since 2007. According to Nintendo, the outing expanded from 25 dates in 2003 with 90,000 in attendance to 45 in 2006 with more than 160,000 in attendance.

Four Metroid games were among those playable during the tour, starting with a demo of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in 2004. It was fully playable during the 2005 dates, along with Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Prime Pinball. A demo of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was playable in 2006.

Games with Metroid references or cameos, such as 1080° Avalanche, Super Smash Bros. Melee, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, Geist and Warioware: Smooth Moves were also playable at various points during the tour.
