Nintendo eShop - Super Metroid Trailer is a 44 second digital trailer for the re-release of Super Metroid on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2013. The trailer was uploaded to the Nintendo YouTube channel on May 15, 2013.

The trailer starts with clips of the Title and Demo Screens, displayed on a TV and Wii U GamePad, before the camera quickly zooms into the GamePad. A sequence of clips then follows. This includes the first battle with Ridley, using the X-Ray Scope, Wall Jumping with the Etecoons in their lair, fighting Crocomire, Draygon, Kraid and Phantoon, using the walking Chozo Statue in the Wrecked Ship, using the Crystal Flash in Corridor No. 1, speed running with the Dachora, the Maridia glass tube breaking, and finally Samus escaping the destruction of Ceres Space Colony. The Theme of Samus plays throughout the trailer.

Two different versions were also published on the Nintendo 3DS eShop as Super Metroid™ Trailer. One of them has the the Wii U interface, and the other - intended for the New Nintendo 3DS version - does not. The scenes with Kraid and Phantoon are rearranged, and an additional clip of Samus in the "path of maws" is added.

Nintendo 3DS eShop description[]

"The Space Pirates, merciless agents of the evil Mother Brain, have stolen the last Metroid from a research station, and once again Mother Brain threatens the safety of the galaxy! Samus Aran must don her awesome array of high-tech weaponry to retrieve the deadly Metroid hidden deep within the cave-riddled planet Zebes. Super Metroid features excellent graphics, with a huge variety of enemies and worlds to explore. The side-view action will be familiar to many players, only now there are new weapons and items, including the Grappling Beam, which allows Samus to swing across large chasms, and the X-Ray Scope, which reveals secret passages."
