Octroll

Octroll as it appears in Metroid II: Return of Samus.

Although these creatures' attack pattern greatly resembles that of the Chute Leech, Octroll can both jump much higher and cause a bit more damage. These creatures are larger than Samus. When destroyed, they nearly always yield large energy units. They are encountered in only one section of SR388. It is unknown if the X Parasites saw the Octroll species as a potential host, as Samus did not encounter any Octroll-X in Metroid Fusion. although the similar Choot creatures were onboard the Biologic Space Laboratories research station.

The game's commercial depicts them rising from a blue substance resembling water. Ingame they thrive in the dangerous liquid.
