An Omnithon[1] is an aquatic variant of the Hecathon species, found in Burenia on ZDR.
Description[]
The Omnithon is a giant, slowly-swimming creature that resembles a squid with a single tentacle. It attacks by emitting a field of purple light below itself, similar to the decomposing light of its land counterparts. This field is capable of draining 30 units of Samus Aran's energy per second as long as she is exposed to it.
Only one Omnithon is directly encountered in all of Burenia, at the base of the area. It swims back and forth, only projecting its light if it detects Samus. Although a single Omnithon can be fought and killed (respawning when visited later), several others can be seen swimming in the backgrounds of underwater rooms in Burenia.
Later, Omnithons are infected by the X Parasites, but their appearance, attacks, and behavior do not change. When killed, an Omnithon yields four X Parasites.
