The parka (パーカー^?)^[1] was an orange outfit that Samus Aran wore at around age 3, depicted in a flashback during Metroid: Other M. It had short sleeves and with it Samus wore blue shorts and orange boots. Her hair was also kept very short, although it would grow longer as she grew older. During the pre-Ridley battle scene, when Samus was overcame by posttraumatic stress disorder, she was briefly depicted as her younger self around the time of the K-2L massacre.

In concept art for the game, Samus's parka was stated to hang on her neck. In the Metroid Manga and Metroid: Zero Mission flashbacks, Samus wore a jumper.
