The Phazon Laser is a weapon utilized by Dark Samus throughout the events of the Metroid Prime series.
Description[]
The Phazon Laser is a type of weapon configuration for the Phazon Beam used by Dark Samus. Similar to how Samus herself can configure her own Arm Cannon settings, Dark Samus is able to adjust her own Phazon Beam into unleashing a continuous stream of Phazon energy.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes[]

The Phazon Laser was first used during the second battle against the Bounty Hunter in the Sanctuary Fortress. During the fight, Dark Samus would occasionally stand in place and place her left arm atop her Arm Cannon, pointing at a certain spot. In the next split second, her Arm Cannon would fire a thin laser of Phazon energy that she would sweep around the room in a 45 degree angle. This laser was powerful enough to cut through various pillars around the Aerie, destroying them and leaving them exposing harmful digital energy. Samus could easily avoid this beam however by jumping over it. Dark Samus would not use the Phazon Laser while she was invisible. After being defeated by the Bounty Hunter, Dark Samus stumbled toward a nearby wall in the Aerie, where she then fired one last concentrated Phazon Laser blast toward the closest wall. At point blank range, Dark Samus was able to shatter the glass with the weapon. She then falls through the open window and plummets into the massive abyss below, successfully escaping the victorious Samus.
Proving to have survived yet again, Dark Samus returns for a third and final time on the planet, appearing right before Samus as she makes her escape from Dark Aether. As Samus worked to obtain the Sky Temple Keys and defeat Emperor Ing, Dark Samus restored her strength through more Phazon absorption. This in turn restored power to her Phazon Laser. During this encounter, Dark Samus utilizes a much more powerful variant of the Phazon Laser. She first gathers Phazon energy around her, powering herself up. She then hovers a great distance above the air, above Samus, and places her left arm atop her cannon, pointing at the Bounty Hunter. Within moments, Dark Samus unleashes a tremendous blast of Phazon Energy aimed at the Hunter, covering a large portion of the surrounding hit area for a brief moment. The blast is so powerful that Dark Samus is slowly pushed backwards when firing. Because Dark Samus powers herself up with a massive amount of Phazon energy for this move, she is immune to all attacks during its fire, meaning Samus has no other choice but to survive through the attack's duration. If Samus is struck by this move, her Visor will be consumed by liquid Phazon energy and she will take constant damage the longer she is consumed by the blast, similar to Phazon patches in the environment. Dark Samus will always point toward the Hunter but she cannot turn the beam around quickly when firing. The Phazon Laser blasts last only for a brief amount of time, but Dark Samus will always tend to fire 2 to 4 times consecutively. After this, she returns to ground level where she disperses her energy, turning herself invisible as with the previous battle. During this time, her Phazon Laser recharges its energy, and after a brief while, Dark Samus will become visible and invincible once more to repeat her onslaught. Once Dark Samus is sufficiently damaged enough, she discards the Phazon Laser in favor of two other attacks for her final phase of the battle.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption[]
As with her previous battles, Dark Samus uses the Phazon Laser against Samus in their battle on planet Phaaze.
Gandrayda as Samus-G uses a similar move as the Phazon Laser, where she expels massive energy from the Arm Cannon in a powerful sweep. The attack borrows Echoes's thin laser's sweep motion with the larger blast setting. Whether this move is a trait borrowed from either Dark Samus or Samus herself is unclear, as the latter has never been shown to use such a similar move before.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

The Phazon Laser is Dark Samus's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Like with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, she expels a massive Phazon Laser energy burst that covers a large portion of the area in front of her, inflicting tremendous amounts of damage to anyone struck by it. Although based on the same move from the Metroid series, the Phazon Laser's properties are similar to Samus's own Zero Laser, due to Dark Samus being an echo fighter of the Bounty Hunter.
