Samus overlooks the Phazon Site from a ledge.
The Phazon Site was a room in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Site had an abundance of Phazon as its name suggests. The Site also had a large number of Dark Metroids. The room was connected to three other rooms, one of which housed the Sonic Boom upgrade. When Samus Aran first visited the Phazon Site, it was infested by Inglets. There were several scannable switches in the room that Samus needed to activate in order to proceed to the next room. The room was located in Dark Agon.
Floating Platforms allow access to a higher level, where a Grey Door guards the room that contains the Sonic Boom.
Trivia
In the New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the Impact Crater music plays instead of the Dark Agon Wastes music heard in the original version of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
