A Space Pirate wielding a Photonic Power Scythe
The Photonic Power Scythe is a weapon wielded by Space Pirate Troopers in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. According to their Logbook entry, the scythe and Quantum Assault Cannon are now "standard-issue weapons" for all troopers. Typically, the Pirate Troopers will attack at range with their Quantum Assault Cannons. However, when approached, they will use these weapons without mercy. A slash of this weapon against Samus can inflict severe damage. Pirate Troopers also appear to wield a variation of this weapon in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
