Pirate Encounter Prelude (as named internally) is a foreboding theme in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Containing instruments similar to the introduction of the Space Pirate battle theme in Metroid Prime, it plays before battles with Space Pirates in their Agon Wastes mining facility.
This includes a battle with Pirate Troopers the first time Samus enters Mining Station A. It also plays in Central Station Access the first time Samus passes through it, and into Central Mining Station, where another battle takes place. When the Pirates in each instance notice Samus, they will ready an attack and the battle theme will begin playing. After the battle is over, Pirate Fear plays. All three themes were composed by Kenji Yamamoto.
