The Piston Hall is a room in Eastern SkyTown, Elysia. Many rotating gears are present on the walls in this room. This room leads from Turbine Access to underneath the Concourse. In the middle of the room there is a gap, which will hurt Samus if she falls through it. On the other side of the gap is a rotary hatch which rotates around a small circular section of the room. The wall alternates between blocking Samus from reaching the other side, or blocking Samus from leaving the section of the room. Samus must time a Screw Attack carefully in order to avoid hitting the wall and falling into the gap.
Despite its name, the room contains no pistons.
In the PAL version of Corruption, the rotating wall was removed and Sky Puffers inhabited the area. In the Metroid Prime Trilogy version, the room no longer contains Sky Puffers, and the rotating wall (seen in the original NTSC version) has been replaced with an alternating energy shield blocking the north side of the room. This is due to the previously mentioned Secret World.
- Sky Puffers (PAL)
- "Clockwork appears to serve no functional purpose. Gears are strictly decoration."
- Rotary hatch
- "Malfunction detected in rotary hatch. Target's rotational controls seem to have short-circuited."
