Plant001 is the internal name for a large species of plant encountered in Metroid Dread. It appears in the background of several outdoor rooms in Ghavoran. It has a purple body that slightly curves to the left, with an interior consisting of green pustules that emit shining spores. Small leaves grow around the base of its open "mouth". It has a thick base, two long antennae sprouting from its head, and extra appendages on either side of the antennae.

This species is not hostile to Samus Aran and cannot be harmed by her, nor can they harm her in return. When she approaches one of these plants, it slowly cocoons itself with a "slithering" sound and does not reopen until Samus goes two rooms away and returns. One shaft on the lower left side of Ghavoran contains two of these plants, and one is also present in the initial elevator room from Burenia.

These plants do not appear to be affected by the later X Parasite outbreak. Although ADAM instructs Samus to assume all bioforms on ZDR have been infected, the X have been known to ignore species they deem as potentially weak hosts, which they may have done with these plants.
