The Port Observation Deck is a room on the G.F.S. Olympus that Samus enters while seeking an alternate route to her Gunship in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It consists of a curved corridor surrounding an inaccessible room that appears to contains an observation room of some sort, with two unoccupied stations in the center of the area. When Samus enters this room, she watches as two Federation Marines prepare to engage incoming Space Pirates. A Space Pirate Boarding Pod rams the ship, releasing two Pirate Militia that block the way to the Xenoresearch Lab. Samus and the Marines then defeat the Pirates, allowing Samus to continue on to her ship.

Development notes

The room's internal name is h08_gfship_boarding, referencing the Space Pirate Boarding Pod that rams the ship here. The keyword gfship indicates the G.F.S. Olympus, and the prefix h08 indicates that this is the eighth of 18 junction rooms on the G.F.S. Olympus.

In an earlier version of Corruption, there were three Pirate Militia in this room instead of two.
