Superpowerbomb

Power Bomb Ammo is an item in the Metroid series that replenishes the Power Bomb count of Samus' Power Suit. They are released from defeated enemies, as well as storage containers in the Metroid Prime series, and can be collected by touching them, using the tractor beam, or using the Grappling Beam in Super Metroid. In Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Dread, they will automatically gravitate towards Samus. It is the scarcest type of ammunition, though certain enemies have a higher-than-normal chance of dropping them.

The appearance of Power Bomb Ammo and the amount of Power Bombs restored when collecting them varies per game:

  • Super Metroid: Small flashing Power Bomb; replenishes one bomb.
    • In the manual, this item is referred to simply as the Power Bomb.
  • Metroid Fusion: Power Bomb Ammo is not present. Instead, Red X and Core-X both replenish 10 bombs.
  • Metroid Prime: Small yellow sphere with pink-ish energy emanating from it; replenishes one bomb.
  • Metroid: Zero Mission: Resembles Super Metroid's take; still replenishes one bomb.
  • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes: A round object that glows yellow; replenishes one bomb.
  • Metroid: Samus Returns: Again resembles the ammo from Super Metroid, but is now a 3-D model; replenishes one bomb.
  • Metroid Dread: Similar to Samus Returns; replenishes one bomb. Red X Parasites return, restoring 5 bombs, and Orange X Parasites restore 3 bombs.
