Powerworks Access is a room within SkyTown, Elysia in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Description[]
This room connects to the Powerworks, where Aurora Unit 217 informs Samus that "Chozo artifacts" (namely, the Spider Ball) have been located. Samus's access to a Morph Ball tunnel is restricted by an energy barrier that is powered by an adjacent Grapple Voltage Terminal. To remove the shield, Samus must use her Grapple Voltage to drain the shield's energy. Once drained, the shield will disappear and Samus can continue on to the objective.
Connecting rooms[]
- Zipline Station Charlie (via Blue Door)
- Powerworks (via Blue Door)
Scans[]
- Energy barrier
- "Energy barrier is being fed power via a nearby terminal. Lower shield to access tunnel."
- Grapple Voltage Terminal
- "Control terminal provides energy barrier with power. Drain energy to lower shield."
- Grapple Voltage Terminal (drained)
- "Control terminal has been completely drained of power. Nearby energy shield offline."
Development notes[]
The room's internal name is 0y10_skytown_morphball, referencing the Morph Ball tunnel used to cross the room. The keyword skytown indicates Skytown, Elysia, and the prefix 0y10 indicates that this is the tenth of 22 pod corridors throughout the planet.
