Prime World Editor (PWE for short) is a custom editor suite and modding tool used to modify Retro Studios games, namely Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and all known and publicly available demos and prototypes of these games. Using Prime World Editor, it is possible to extract the internal filenames of rooms, objects and enemies, place creatures into rooms they would not otherwise appear in, and access unused content leftover in the games. It was first released in 2017.[1]
