Rabbit-Squirrel (ウサギリス Usagirisu )[1] is a species of small rabbit-like creatures depicted in the Metroid prequel manga.
Description[]
Rabbit-Squirrels are furred mammal-like aliens that dwell within trees. They were found in the forests of K-2L near the human colony, but could also survive on the hostile surface of Zebes; it is unknown if the Body Adaptation Machine was required. Rabbit-Squirrels, while appearing to possess higher aptitude than most wildlife and making loyal pets, cannot speak and instead communicates through squeaking "Pichi" (ピチッ Pichi ) vocalizations.[2] They attack by kicking with their feet and throwing their opponent to the floor. Their lifespan is unknown, although they can live longer than 11 years and still be strong enough to take down larger foes.
The only known specimen is Samus's pet, Pyonchi.
Trivia[]
- "Usagirisu" is a combination of the Japanese words for rabbit (ウサギ usagi ) and squirrel (リス risu ).
