Samus Aran's Radar is an object detection system that identifies the range, altitude, direction, or speed of both moving and fixed objects. It is used in the Combat Visor's display, other Visors where Samus is able to shoot (as such it is not used in the Scan Visor's display), and in the Touch Screen in Metroid Prime Hunters.

  • Some creatures, like Chozo Ghosts, only can be seen by the radar when are visible; but when they make themselves invisible, the radar can't mark them. Other creatures, like the Omega Pirate, can render themselves invisible, but the radar can locate them regardless whether or not they are visible.
  • Omega Ridley is the only enemy in the Metroid Prime series to be fully rendered on the Radar.
  • The Radar appears in the Metroid Prime flash game, and will always spin actively despite the lack of enemies.
