Specialist M. Angseth was a member of GFMC Task Force Herakles. She was one of two known female members of Squad Bravo (one other is shown in the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Manga), and idolized the famed Bounty Hunter and fellow woman, Samus Aran.

Angseth once mentioned Samus's attack on Zebes to PFC I. Crany, who found it difficult to believe that one hunter could take out an entire Space Pirate base on her own. But, he says in his log entry, if Angseth "wants to believe in this Samus, or Bigfoot, or Santa Claus, she can." This implies that Samus is the stuff of legends during the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes' due to her amazing feats.

It is thought (but not certain; see below) that Angseth died in the Trooper Security Station where she performed her guard duty, just outside the GFS Tyr's landing site. The exact cause of death is unknown, although she was likely overcome by the Dark Splinter attack on the GFMC compound.

Theory of survival

A curious thing to note is that while most of the Troopers Samus encounters have their full armor mostly intact, the ones that don't always have visible faces behind their cracked and broken Visors. However, Angseth's paticularly Visor is completely blacked out. Because of this, some theorize that the constable may have, in fact, survived the encounter. One alternate theory is that her body was eaten by something following her death, but given that none of the other troopers befell this fate, and that, aside from her visor, her armor is mostly intact (whereas one would expect that any creature trying to consume her body would have had to rip apart the suit to get to it) this is highly unlikely. However after the Dark Splinter attack her Visor must have been shattered. Then the creatures must have gotten rid of it then ate her. Another reason that debunks this theory is the presence of flies around her body, that suggests her corpse is still there. The other troopers' visors, apart frome Captain Exeter's, must have been strongly intact which is why they have their body.

Another reason this theory may be false is that Samus finds many dead Marines with blacked out Visors in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, especially on Norion.

Logbook Entry

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes: "This is ridiculous. I can outshoot half the men here, and I'm stuck on monitor duty. I didn't join up to stare at a holoscreen! This wouldn't happen to Samus Aran... She'd be out there taking care of business, not pushing buttons and sending reports."
