Scatterbugs are a species of small insect on Aether, found in the Agon Wastes as well as the Temple Grounds. As their name suggests, Scatterbugs are tiny spider-like insects that quickly scurry away, across a floor of sand. If Samus scans something in the room while Scatterbugs are visible, they will continue to move while she is reading the scan data, whereas everything else will freeze; this is due to the fact that they are particle effects and not actual enemies. Their name originates from the files of various rooms, where their particle effect is referred to as Scatterbug, or merely bug.
Trivia[]
- Scatterbugs share their name with a 6th-generation Bug-type Pokémon.
