The Scrap Block is a room in Sector 1 / Biosphere. It appears in Metroid: Other M.
Description[]
As the name implies, it is used as a garbage dump, and contains lumps of a rubbish resembling webs. They can be cleared away with Missiles or Bombs, and remain destroyed for the rest of the game. In the foreground is a raised platform with a ridged texture and a ramp on the left side, and in the background is a staircase leading up to the exit door. Samus enters the room from a network of tunnels leading in from the Observation Room, and proceeds from here further into the area, eventually reaching the Subterranean Control Room.
The six rubbish piles are concentrated in front of the staircase and beside it. Samus is not required to destroy the two in front of the staircase to move past them, as she can simply jump over them to continue. However, the piles on the left side conceal a hidden tunnel into the wall of the next room, which holds a Missile Tank.
It is one of two rooms on the BOTTLE SHIP used for trash disposal; the other being the Blast Furnace Observation in the Pyrosphere.

- "Drop into the hole near the end of the path to find another short section of ventilation shaft. Roll to its end and drop into the Scrap Block room populated by several Wavers. Eliminate the Wavers with your Beam, then use missiles to remove all the rubbish piles from the room. This reveals a staircase and a small tunnel at the far end of the room."
